We stopped using our fire stick when you tube and Amazon couldn’t reach a deal and YouTube was removed. If that’s no issue for you- it’s a reasonable deal. Between that and future concerns of similar lockouts- we just went to roku for the whole house

I added Vudu and YouTube through a tutorial from YouTube.

We added firefox and watch youtube through that on the firestick…

We got an fire stick with Alexa over the holidays and it is pretty terrible. It’s inconsistent and doesn’t stay connected to the internet. We have an older fire stick that works fine. Just a word of caution if you’re considering getting one, might want to look into Roku and Apple TV as well.

I’ve been having the same issue with our fire stick from December too. Even tried all the tricks (bigger plug, etc). Constantly looses connection, reboots,… Even the remote batteries have pooped out twice. Second time it was only used twice and then sat for a month.

I had been given a similar priced (low end) roku stick- haven’t had any problems with it. I wish the fire would work- I’ve gotten used to just asking Alexa for things!

Maybe there was a bum batch in December?

We have 2 Rokus and a Firestick. Always have issues with the Firestick, never with the Rokus.

I’ve had my fire stick with the remote for about two months we decided to cancel our DirecTV and try cutting the cord. I couldn’t be happier we have great Internet speed anyways so we don’t have any problems whatsoever with connection issues or lag. There are so many exciting options to pick when you have all the apps to choose from and I have the App for YouTube and it works with either silk browser or Firefox both of which you can download as an app. It just confuses silk or Firefox as a browser to pull it up. I suggest downloading the apps Pluto and Mobdro. Both have free TV that are like watching cable and it’s constantly running and you can check the listings and a lot of times they match up with the channels local network programming. The only complaint I have is being unable to watch any and TV programs apparently you have to have some type of service cable or DirecTV to enter to use that app.
