So I tried to use 2 coupons at Walgreens and they won’t take them. After scanning the Savings book coupon, the prices reduced to $5.29 and $1.14, the cashier and manager claimed that the $3 MQ is over the $1.14 amount and refuse to take the coupon. I said that if the Savings book coupon was scanned after the MQ, there wouldn’t be a problem. They still refused to take the coupon.

It’s pretty annoying when companies send out coupons and cashiers refuse to take them. Sometimes I think it’s cashiers discretion or they think overage is a crime. Depends on stores/cashiers possibly and sometimes store policy.

      • Jane Z.

In this case, it was NOT an overage. If the Walgreens coupon was not scanned first, the prices would be $8.29 and $4.14. I tried to explain this to the cashier and manager but they wouldn’t budge and said it won’t work and they won’t get reimbursed for the coupons. We tried in that order and the coupons scanned fine but they still won’t let me complete the transaction. I’m very upset at Walgreens and will be filing a complaint.

        • Happy Couponing

No need to get upset. To get another that just clip the coupon to your digital Walgreens account.Them the manager can’t block you because it will happen after you type in your phone number. Don’t make it harder. Couponing in itself is stressful. Work around it! I hope you have better luck in the future.

My Walgreens would not complete the transaction too!

  5. Cleob

I digitally clipped the Walgreens store coupon. So if I do this deal and present the two $3 MQs, will the MQs come off first and then the store coupon?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes! Their coupon policy states the following: “Paper coupons will be processed before digital coupons”. 🙂

      • Cleob

Thanks Amber. That is good to know.

        • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You’re welcome! Glad to help! 😉

          • Cleob

The deal worked for me, except the price is 8.49 at my store. But still a great deal using both MQ and digital store coupons.

And I just got the $3.00 Saving Star offer posted to my account. Win win!
