Great news for Target REDcard holders!

If you’ve been contemplating a REDcard, now is a great time to sign up as Target just announced that cardholders can score free 2-day shipping on ANY size order on Target.com! Previously Target REDcard holders got free shipping, but not free 2-day shipping!  Remember that cardholders will also get 5% off ANY in-store or online purchase and an extra 30 days to return items.

In order to take advantage of the 2-day shipping, just place your order before the cut off period (generally 12PM local time). If an item is not available for two-day shipping, you will see that noted in the shipping details.

Not a cardholder? No worries!

You can still score free 2-day shipping on qualifying orders of $35 or more – and there are thousands of qualifying products to choose from! For items that don’t qualify for 2-day shipping, Target still offers free standard shipping on $35 orders for non-cardholders.

Perks of having a Target REDcard:

Don’t like the idea of having a credit card? Consider signing up for the debit card instead of the credit version for the same perks, no annual fee, and no credit check required. The debit card is tied to your existing checking account so you can also withdraw up to $40 at checkout in-store.

I wanted to sign up online, as I don’t get in store that often, but the page was not secure. I’ll pass for now.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh bummer! How odd. I don’t find that as I click through. Maybe wait a moment and try again Or click through in a different browser. Hoping that might help!

      • Rebecca

Thanks, I’ll try a different browser.

I am so glad Target, as well as other stores are stepping up to compete with Amazon. I opted to forgo renewing my Amazon Prime membership this past February and I am so glad I did.

  12. veronica

Yay! So happy for the 2 day shipping. My prime membership is going to end this september and im really on the fence about renewing this year now.

  13. Jeff

I might actually start looking at target.com now. Good idea Target. U need this to compete with amazon and Walmart

To someone that already has the debit redcard:

I’ve heard from a few people that the debit version doesn’t automatically withdraw/place a hold on your bank account. That it can take up to 48 hours for Target to batch these transactions, resulting in your bank account not having the correct balance. As in, you could overdraft your account easily.

I would LOVE to have the debit redcard but I shop on Target.com frequently and don’t want my debits not to show up for two days.
Is this the case for others or was I misinformed? Thanks!

    • Beverly

Yes as I have the debit redcard, it clears out of my account in two days. I don’t mind it as I’m old school and still keep track of my spendings with a checkbook!

    • nikole

Yes this is how it works I used to over draft all the time I had too start keeping track of my target spending.

    • Anne

Idk whether it’s true, but you don’t have to have a Target debit card for a bank to delay transactions. That’s why I write mine all down in a little notebook now, to keep track of exactly how much money I have regardless of what the bank app says.

  15. nickyB

I’ve had the target red card debit version for 5 or 6 years and never got a 10% off on my birthday. Does anyone else? How do I fix that?

    • nickyB

Oops just saw that it is a NEW benefit

    • Charlotte's Mom

This is a new benefit that just started this year.

    • Charlotte's Mom

And it’s not on your birthday. I believe it’s on the red card anniversary (the day you originally signed up). Hope that helps!

      • trace

Do they let you know when your anniversary of signing up is? We signed up years ago!

        • Charlotte's Mom

Does it say on your card member since 03/2009 or something similar? I’m sure you could call and find out too.

          • Peaches

Yep. Your Redcard anniversary date is on your card. Mine is May 24. Nearly here! Now. What do I need…want?

  16. Jason

There is always a catch! I am see MANY items that require a minimum purchase threshold of $25 before the order will be shipped, sorry Target, Amazon still has you beat!

    • beth

Great to know , LOVE Target !!!

    • Nan

Try ordering through the Target app; sometimes the minimum purchase threshold will go away. Or make sure that you’re logged in to your account online and have your Redcard account number keyed into your checkout page.

    • HipMommyof5inWI

Agree- The minimum dollar amount for orders listed for some items does not show up if you order from the Target app on your phone. I’ve done this many, many times!!!

  17. Alexa

Oh no this could be dangerous for me lol

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      LOL!

  18. KED

    Thanks for the info!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re most welcome!

  19. Litsa

    Such good news…

  20. Kimberly

I HATE HATE HATE the Redcard and HATE cartwheel. They raised their prices and make us jump through hoops to get “discounts.” And they made it so complicated! Choices near me are Walmart and Target so I go when I have to, but I ALWAYS leave frustrated. Do way more Amazon shopping just to avoid Target.

  21. tsharaec

I have a redcard and have not gotten free shipping in a year. Stopped shopping online because of it.

    • HipMommyof5inWI

I would call customer service. They should not be happening to you. I order from target probably 3 to 4 times a week and never pay shipping. I’ve had some orders that were three or four dollars in total and did not have to pay shipping. You should never have to pay shipping.

  22. moria

This is great! I just got my 10% off anniversary email!
