I recommend against this tablet. Ours stopped charging after 6 months. Amazon knows this is an issue (see reviews on Amazon or search the internet) but won’t do anything about it. They offered me a coupon code for 15% off next purchase and when I said it was unacceptable they offered 25%. I shouldn’t have to pay to replace a lightly used, faulty product.
Agreed. We have gone through 3 sets of Kindle Fires. Each one stopped charging within a year.
Oh no! Sorry to hear they quit charging. I see they list a 2 year guarantee. We have 2 and the 1st has been going strong now close to 7 years and the other 2 years so far. To those who have had a problem I would reach out to Amazon and I’m sure they would ship you another for free. They have the most amazing customer service in the world. If it’s sold by Amazon especially they will back their product. Trick is to email instead of call…I have found that to always be the best solution otherwise you get someone who doesn’t speak English.
At the time of my purchase, apparently they did not offer a warranty and Amazon will not do anything about the problem despite many people experiencing this issue. I spoke with multiple customer service agents and no one would do anything. This is my first experience with Amazon customer service and I have heard great things in general so this was pretty disappointing. My son only used the tablet a few times (we reserve it for trips), so it’s really unacceptable that it will fail so quickly.
I’m glad you’ve had better experiences but just a simple Google search shows tons of people have issues with the charging mechanism failing.

We have used these tablets for my 3 kids for over 5 years now and YES the ONLY problems we have had with them is charging problems! But their customer service has been AMAZING and we have had each one replaced with no problems!! Even if you bought without a 2 year warranty they ALWAYS come with a one year warranty if purchased and replaced thru Amazon! And a faulty charging port is a legitimate reason for replacement!!
