   My kids loved all of their Melissa & Doug toys growing up. The pizza kit and bread with cutting board were favorites.

   I love Melissa & Doug toys too! My son was a preemie and is a little behind in speech, so he has a woman who comes and works with him once a week. She brings a lot of M&D toys because she goes from appt. to appt. and has a lot of kids playing with them and they really last, and also really interest the kids.

   Melissa and Doug is an awesome brand. Our favorites were the wooden play food and the puzzles. My oldest is 15 now, but my nieces and nephew still come over and play with our “vintage” Melissa and Doug toys, circa 2003.

   I usually appreciate Melissa & Doug products but bought their shovel at my local nursery in the garden tools section and was shocked by the dollar store quality that sold for ten times that. It looked like it had decent quality and was not made out of plastic but metal and wood. But apparently it should not actually be used to dig dirt or sand or anything else because doing so will break the metal off the pole in minutes. I wish that I had bought the piece of junk on Amazon so I could return it. Unfortunately I threw away the receipt. My child is heartbroken. Btw, this shovel is sold on Amazon and has very low ratings. Similar experiences to mine.
