Want to look like a million bucks without actually spending it?

Keep reading, my fashionable friends! To help you save on trending and classic designer look-alike accessories, I’m comparing some of the most popular fashion finds at three different price ranges: Save (where you’ll get hot looks for a steal), Splurge (pricey but potentially worth it), and SHOCK (designer pieces over $500 that nearly knocked me out of my knock off Jimmy Choos). Check out the list below to see how they compare in style and vary in price.

A must-have: The classic black handbag.

black handbags of various price ranges

A black handbag is a key piece in any closet. The simple design ensures it will always be in style!

Diamond Earrings. Simple, delicate, and always a girl’s best friend.

Readers LOVE the 1/10 carat studs from JCPenney. And at only $25, they’re a steal!

These black heels were made for all occasions.

assortment of black high heel shoes with various prices

No matter the event, black heels work with just about every outfit. We can barely tell these options apart (aside from their price point!) 😉

A perfect, full of style pendant necklace.

I LOVE the iridescent shine to these delicate necklaces. Glam up your look or consider picking one up as a gift—they’re great for the person who has everything!

Complete your look with timeless silver hoops.

Silver hoops will never go out of style, so either invest in a quality pair to last a lifetime or pick up some on the cheap – you won’t feel so bad if you lose a hoop from this under $3 set!

Aviators, the signature piece to an effortlessly cool outfit.

assortment of aviators and various price points

Break out your sunnies! Freshen up your collection with a pair of aviators for only $18 at H&M—and they’re even polarized!

Minimalist black & gold belts lend the perfect finishing touch.

Wear these belts over dresses, wrapped over sweaters, and, of course, in your belt loops. They make any outfit look complete and pulled together – literally!

If you’re not sporting a blanket scarf, you’re doing your neck a disservice.

These black and white plaid blanket scarves offer warmth, comfort, and cozy style to your look regardless the season.

Tortoise earrings are all the rage right now.

tortoise and gold earring comparison and prices

How FUN and chic are these earrings?! They’re so trendy right now, which means they might not stay in style for more than a few years. That said, consider picking them up at Forever 21 for under $10!

A classic gold timepiece with a touch of pink.

rose gold watch comparison with price variation

Rose gold looks SO chic. While these watches are all gorgeous, I still can’t believe the option from Target is only $20!

Has there ever been a bracelet more iconic than the silver heart charm?

silver heart charm bracelets from amazon, sterling essentials, and tiffany

You’ve probably seen Tiffany’s charm style bracelet grow even more famous over the years, but you can save a little cash with non-branded options from Overstock and Amazon!

I totally agree. We all like to get cheap pampers and charmin, but it’s great to take a break and look at designer stuff.

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Well this just melted my heart 💛thank you for the super kind words and we’ll be sure to keep ’em coming, Chris!

If anyone is looking for more geode style jewelry, check out Michael’s. They had a ton last time I went in.

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I actually saw some of those myself, I wasn’t sure if they were finished pieces or just the gems but they were dazzling!! Thanks for the tip, Elaine!

I hate to be negative, but I hated the earrings from JcPenneys. I got those exact ones while they were on sale and for points. I ended up spending about $5 on them. Which is about what they are worth. They look like fashion jewelry and not diamond jewelry. Sure, people liked them…but they totally expected them to be at a fashion jewelry price and thought they were exactly that. Further, the post on both of them was awkward and I had trouble getting them out the backside of my ears because of it. Which, I don’t have an issue with on other earrings. Lastly, I read up on them before buying them and a lot of people complained the backs fell off and they fell out of their ears and lost them. So, I bought backs to prevent that. With the new backs I didn’t have this issue. I felt like the visual from the front was that they were leaning down, no matter what way I twisted them. They look better from a straight in front appearance. I’m short, so, those taller than me didn’t really see anything but seeing through the side of them. The middle kind of looks like a diamond in that picture but its just a tin center bent.

I probably wouldn’t have spent even $5 on them had I known then what I know now.

But I def like this post and the idea of this post!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I’m sorry to hear you had issues with them, Lilianna! That’s good to know about replacing the backs if anyone else comes across the same issues. I’ve had the same thing happen with other earrings of mine and I’ve ended up switching the backs between so many pairs that I’m not exactly sure which ones are the correct match at this point 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed the post otherwise!

I actually like all of the ‘save’ items better than the ‘shock’ items!!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Right!? And for such a great price no less! Thanks for reading, Adrian!

I buy most of my clothes on sale/clearance besides splurging on Burberry coats which you can find really good deals on at Bloomingdales. I will splurge more on accessories. Especially the classics. I have several pairs of Jimmy Choos that were purchased from Nordstrom and Saks when they went on sale. TJ Maxx also has nice designer merchandise in the Runway stores and online. Off 5th is great for designer merchandise too. You just have to be patient and grab it when you see it. It goes fast!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I totally agreed! I love perusing the Runway section of TJMaxx.com and the outlet versions of Nordstrom and Saks… it’s amazing those designer pieces can get discounted so low! I’ll have to check out the Bloomingdales sales — thanks for the tip!

I would suggest a good pair of cz earrings in a believable size, like no bigger than 1 ct. per ear. They will look like ral if set in sterling silver with rhodium plating or 14 kt. You will wear them forever. I also buy designer shoes all the time at Nordstrom Rack at a fraction of the cost. Great post!

    • Ra

So true. I remember Tyra Banks said she wears solitaire CZ studs and you can’t tell the difference. I mean jewelry like engagement rings you want to go real though.

  12. acgold

Would like to add- Michaels has a section of ready made jewelry and they have similar necklaces and druzy rings as shown above and tassel earrings can be easily made with tassels and findings!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thank you so much for the tips! Sounds like a super fun DIY project 😃

  13. nunnie

    Great deals!

  14. babymair

Emily ,I really enjoyed this post ,It was really cool to see the difference in the items. Some of the most expensive items really didnt look that nice …to me .lol..God bless and keep up the good work.

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thank you! It’s funny to me how some of the affordable options look nicer than the crazy expensive accessories — it definitely pays to be frugal!

  15. Michelle

    Good job 👏

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Thank you, Michelle!

  16. Joanie

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thank you, Joanie! Much appreciated 🤗

  17. Loco14

I was shocked to see the shocking price of 450$ for the tassel earrings!! I mean… They are just tassels @the end of the day!
