So does this mean the go fund me failed? I was confused because one day they said no liquidation and they were trying to get o save eom stores and the next the sale was on.

    • ASHLEIGH

I believe they didn’t raise the 1 billion they needed. Last time I checked it was 200 million

    • e

The gonfundme was so that some other CEO can buy half of the stores.

    • Emily

That guy did the GoFundMe as a publicity stunt to see if he could privaetly drum up some other investors to buy the Canadian stores and the 200 most successful stores in the USA. That still may happen, but in the meantime, liquidation continues. I think this situation is very similar to the one that happened when either Gander Mountain or Cabellas went out of business. They sold their current merchandise to a liquidation firm and separately sold their name and store locations to another company who planned to reopen the stores under the same name.

Beaverton, Oregon friends. Signs say up to 30% but it only was on greeting cards everything else was 5% – 10%
    Just saving ya a trip.

    • nicole

I stopped by my local toys r us in Texas and they were still at 5-10%. Hopefully this saves someone else a trip.

      • nkis

        Yes thank you Nicole

    • ann

Salem, Oregon here and some stuff was 30 percent off but toys and good stuff was 10 and formula and essential baby stuff was regular priced.

    • Kelly M

Salem Oregon too. Still 10% on anything you would want

    • Debi

Thank you!! Live far outside of Hillsboro. You saved me a trip tomorrow πŸ€—

    • amy111

Thank you for your comment! I actually needed Frozen PiΓ±ata and although it’s not super cheap, 30% off was what I needed for my daughter’s birthday in a few weeks. I had just priced them at Party City and they started at $20 and the one I found a TRU was under $10.

  3. Sarah

Just went at lunch. They had more items than I saw last week, but you can tell they are running low on inventory. Prices were pretty much the same as they were last week as well. Only difference I really saw was that Easter was 20% off. Most everything else was still 10% and Legos were still 5% off. I don’t care what anyone else says, I am sad they are closing. My store was always great at price matching and very helpful. I didn’t mind the extra work. I price match at most stores that allow it anyway.

    • alissa

Does your store still price match during liquidation?

      • Cyn526

        No price matching.

  4. Twinmamabird

I hope you guys know that the stores all have signs saying they are not accepting gift cards. They posted them the day the liquidation started.

    • fran

I just saw on the website that gift cards are good until April 21st

    • Sunflower

I used my last $25 gift card on Saturday during the liquidation. I could not use my 15% off coupon.

  5. Beth

I was there yesterday and spoke with an employee. They stopped accepting gift cards, rewards points and coupons a week ago.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks Beth! We are checking on that now. It may vary by store.

    • Liz Bishop

We went this week and my daughter used her gift card just fine. (This was in Vernon Hills, IL)

  6. Jen

My local store stopped accepting gift cards already.

  7. e

Ughhh. I had been wanting to get the star wars power wheel that was a Tru exclusive.

  8. Desiree

I was at ToysRUs in Mentor, Ohio on Wednesday looking for a few more Easter basket fillers. They still accepted the gift card I had. They were 10% off too.

  9. ResseCup

Just an idea: if you still have gift cards, you might be able to take them to one of those kiosk at like Kroger to cash in unwanted/unused gift cards. Now you might only get 50% value but it’s better than nothing.

    • Megan

I saw an advertisement for BuyBuyBaby that said they were accepting BRU gift cards…

  10. TINA

that seems like shady business practices to stop accepting gift cards while stores are still open. I’m glad my daughter used hers right away

    • Erin

      Well declaring bankruptcy is shady.

    • Ash

While they are β€˜open’ they have been taken over by a liquidator. There was plenty of warning about the gift cards. Nothing shady about it at all. TRU is no longer TRU.

  11. Veronica

We have a babies r us that was part of the first round of store closings before they announced they were all closing and went yesterday and everything was 80% off for their final 3 days! I got a graco travel system for $100 instead of $329. They also had a ton of toys left at 80% off. Hopefully they start to do the same at all the other stores the closer they get!

    • Crystal

Where was it? I have a babies r us closing last day tomorrow and figured nothing would be left

    • Julie

80% off of $329 should be $65.80. You still got a great deal, but not 80% off.

  12. Linda Lin

Went to babiesrus yesterday and they still take my gift card.

  13. Liz

Oh no!! I didn’t know online was closing so soon! I have gift cards and the stores around here closed months ago!

  14. Liz Bishop

Went to Vernon Hills, IL location this week. Pathetic prices, only 10% off, but obviously no sales so it’s really more than it was prior to liquidation. Store was completely stocked and they were still stocking… I would just wait….

    • princed13

Same here in Racine, WI. it says up to 30% but everything is pretty but 5-10% off. Gift wrap and easter were 30% and 20% off, respectively.

  15. Rosi

Orlando, Fl only has 10% baby stuff and 20% off clothes, but prices were spiked up! NOT worth it!

  16. jenn

Kinda a side topic, but made me think of this- A Rite Aid by me is closing. The whole store is 50% off. Even with 50% off the store was STILL priced higher than other places because their regular prices are just that high. Crazy.

    • Luv2save2

My Winn Dixie is closing too. Sniff. The last day is April 30th but I don’t think it will last that long because the shelves are clearing fast!

  17. Kyliejay!

Does anyone know if Glenway Ave Cincinnati is still open?

  18. CindyS

That’s odd … the website still works for me and I just placed an order. Wonder if it’s regional? I think their distribution center on the east coast is in Ohio. At least that’s where all my orders were shipped from anyway.

    • Wren

That is weird! When I got to it a pop up says β€˜Thanks for visiting. We have shutdown the website for any purchases…’

    • MamaSciacca

I have a distribution center 5 miles from my house and I got the shutdown notice.

  19. Toni

The website closed down 3 hours ago.

    • Blanksandboutique.com

The website was shut down last night. I went on there around 9 PM and got the same message as Hip2Save

  20. Chris

My advice is not to order anything from Babies R Us. My daughter did the “completion” of her registry right around the time the closing was announced. We had to order a dresser and changing table top because they did not have those in the store. Delivery date was 3/26-3/29. We got an email yesterday that shipment was delayed u til the end of April. Further investigation revealed that the order had been cancelled by BRU 3 days after the order was placed and they do not have inventory to fulfill the order. My account has been charged, and there is no clear answer from them as to when (or if) we will see a refund.

    • Sara

If you can’t get a refund from Babies R Us, contact your credit card issuer for a chargeback. You should get your money back since you never received the merchandise.

  21. Julie

I was able to use gift cards today at my store. They said you could use them until April 21st.

  22. Valerie

The Short Pump store in Richmond, VA accepted our gift cards today, 3/40. The store is already getting picked thru and is a mess.

  23. Sonia

Only 10% off discount in Chicago, IL so far.

  24. Christone4

Our store was closing with the first round and only has 13 days left so the discounts were awesome. Legos diapers American girl 20% off. Clearance extra 50% off. Toys were 50-60% off regular price I was able to use a gift card too. Huge Moana playset-$40 for $16, minion thermos for $5, Willa- wellie wisher for $41. We’re in Missouri

  25. Nancy

Visited the local Toysrus today and was disappointed to find things were only 10 per cent off so far. Lego products were only 5 per cent and diapers were excluded.

  26. Lisa

Hi anyone know about Tenn, or Alabama stores

  27. K21

Just came across this, thought I would share- Apparently buy buy baby is offering gift cards in exchange for babies r us gift cards up until 04/01/18.
    https://buybuybaby.cardcash.com/faq

  28. Ashley

Website is still up for me… I’m in central N.C.

  29. rmwalla76

Website is up for me too. Store in Cape Girardeau, MO is up to 70% off. Closing in 13 days.

  30. e

Now I can search for inventory but get the we are shut down pop up when I try to add something to the cart.

  31. Susan

It looks like they have changed the link. It is now https://toysrusclosingsale.com/. I hope they will keep it updated with the discount percent so I won’t waste my time calling or going to my local store while the discounts are so minor.

  32. Nenally

It’s only 10% on toys which it doesn’t make a big change.. It’s like you still pay the same price without the tax..

    • Nenally

      I meant big difference.

  33. Tati

    TRU did a gofundme!?!? πŸ˜‚

    • Tati

Go home Toys R Us, you’re drunk. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  34. PrincessMom

I keep hoping they’ll start doing some REAL discounts at our store. So far it’s no discount on a lot of things (diapers, food, bath supplies, etc) and only 10% on most of the store. I plan to drive by at least every other day (just adds a few minutes to my commute home to go that way) so that I don’t miss them doing some deep discounts. There’s a lot of things I’d love to grab at 50% or more and I can always put away for baby showers if I find something great that we no longer need once it’s up to 80%! πŸ˜‰

  35. WakandaForever

Bed bath and beyond is giving store credit for Target gc

  36. Rachel

I stopped in to my TRS (Southern Maine) tonight (04/04), for the first time since the announcement. I’m honestly not sure what I expected, but last week they had people holding signs near the roads advertising 30%. To me, I was thinking 30% really wasn’t that great of a deal, but there wasn’t even anything for 30% off at my store. Everything was 5-10% off. The funny thing is that some shelves were actually cleared. The store was a mess. Now, I understand they probably aren’t bothering with cleaning since its a “liquidation”, but I don’t understand how some shelves were cleared at 5-10% off. Is this a deal to other people? It isn’t to me, lol. I saw nothing worth getting even at a discount of 30%, let alone 5-10%. I must be missing something, lol.
