Chicken is good quality but comes in leaky plastic and has to be repackaged so make sure to have freezer bags on hand!
Our last pick up off Zaycon’s ground beef, they packaged in one pound cubes. Prior to that, they packaged in four 10 pound tubes which had to be freezer packed. I don’t know if it’s just me, but $2.39 seems like a lot of money per pound for ground beef. I checked the other meat prices too and it just doesn’t seem to be like that much of a savings for me to drive to the nearest pickup (1/2 hour for me) and process so much meat. In my area beef and chicken alternate on sale and are usually .99 to 1.99 per pound which is when I stock up.

Wow! Out of curiosity, where are you ladies that ground beef is $3-5/lb?? I live in Florida and food prices tend to be higher here because of geography, but ground beef can still generally be found for $2 fairly regularly.
I live in UT and the only ground beef that is $2 a pound is the 73/27 ground beef. You lose over 1/4 of it to fat before it even hits the table! I will pay $3-4/lb to get more actual beef in an 80/20 or 85/15 ratio.
