Thanks for posting! I have a ladies trip coming up in about 7 months, and we’re taking a carnival cruise out of Charleston! šŸ™‚ I just bought 3 to pay for a couple shore excursions!

Good morning! I am making payments on a carnival cruise……….could i get gift cards to pay towards the balance??? I have heard people doing this before but with my luck I would be stuck with gift cards!

    • Lisa

Can’t comment on if you can use them to make payments on your scheduled cruise (but it seems like it would make sense!). We have bought Carnival Cruise Giftcards in the past, and what we’ve done is if you take them to the guest service counter, they can apply them to your account on ship. As frugal as we are, we use them to pay for gratuities and possibly a shore excursion or two. Bon Voyage.

You can use them. If with a travel agent call them and they can apply them. If you booked direct with Carnival log in and when you go to make a payment just click on apply carnival gift card…it’s in small print and easy to miss but it’s there. This is how we pay for all our cruises. Last month I bought a gift card online on my phone at a discount to apply to the deposit for the next trip that I booked on board at the loyalty desk. It works just like cash! I pay for our whole cruise with gift cards, excursions, drink packages, tips, cruise cash, photos, etc… if you have a few cruises booked a bunch of places will sell you them in bulk for 10% off the face value but I think it’s a 10K min. Again…only worth it if you have a few cruises booked or need book a few and want to pay all at once.

AWESOME! Thanks for the info ladies!!!

Great deal! Iā€™d love to find one for Royal Caribbean as we are going on a cruise in September! I had no idea you could buy cruise gift cards on Newegg

    • jen

You can get e-gift cards for Royal Caribbean (and Carnival) through allstate drivewise and AARP rewards. You do not need to be a customer, nor do you have to qualify for AARP. Just sign up for the rewards programs, which are free.

      • Sara

The RCCL gift certificates from AARP are incredibly restrictive. They can only be used to book a new cruise. They are always available because of that. The Carnival cards can be used for just about anything. Carnival cards sometimes run out.

How long does it normally take to get the gift cards? Has anyone received them yet?

    • Kevin

I’m still waiting for mine as well

  9. Tracy

I got mine within about 30 minutes of purchasing. Already used two of them to buy our pixel package and some cases of water for our May 13th cruise. Great deal.
