All good things must come to an end, and so we’re saying goodbye to Walmart Wednesday (at least for now). We’ve had lots of engagement while doing this series (positive and negative), and it has been a blast sharing our favorite finds with you each week.

Before sharing our final looks, we MUST share the oh so adorable shoes we spotted for UNDER $5! 😍You seriously may want to make a beeline for the shoe department next time you’re at Walmart. They have so many new summer styles and the prices ROCK!

This week I didn’t spot very many new Women’s styles, but you guys – the kids shoes were oh so adorable this week. I mean, unicorn shoes! Could these be any cuter?

I also spotted kitty shoes with tiny fluffy tails on the back!

And foxes, sharks, dinos … oh my! These are all just $4.98. So fun!

Also, they’ve got adorable new styles of jelly shoes for girls in lots of fun colors!  I even spotted Disney Crocs knock-offs for just $4.98 (in-store only).

OK, now for our final Walmart Wednesday…

I really liked the high/low list…basically the designer version of shoes, accessories, etc. and the “designer inspired” version that cost much less. Thanks for all that you all do! I love this site! πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the feedback! I love the idea on doing more posts on designer inspired stuff for less! πŸ‘

  2. Mrs.W

Thanks for all the fun posts! I don’t “love” Wal-Mart ha ha but I always loved your Wal-Mart Wednesday posts!😁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awww… thanks!! πŸ™‚

  3. keesh

Oh no . I cant wait for the next one .

  4. Sharon

Is the Walmart Ad Match Guarantee still in effect. I was told by a worker in the store “no.” He said only if you order online or I could still do Savings Catcher. I did do that an it gave me money back on Belvita. But I wanted to do it in store since SC doesn’t catch everything. He said nope.

    • Keri

Sadly they discontinued in-store price matching. I used that program extensively in the past, especially for grocery shopping. You can use Savings Catcher now, but produce, deli meat, and many other food items are not included. They also only compare select larger stores in your area via Savings Catcher. I’m still super bummed by this change.

    • moria

Unfortunately, in-store price matching did end a while back. I’m not happy about it.

    • e

I was able to pm to WM dot com just a few weeks ago. I haven’t tried any other stores lately though.

  5. luna

Wow this was the best collection till date sad to see you go… I still need to check out the new clothing line thanks for the posts

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Stay tuned… as we may start up this series again in the next few months!

  6. Debbie

Looking forward to the next one.

  7. Lisa

Maybe Lina could do copycat recipes

  8. S White

How about something about deals at Burlington Coat Factory? It has so much more than coats!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the suggestion!

    • ReneeAnn

I literally went to Burlington and bought a cute plaid flannel for about $11. A couple weeks later I went to a downtown boutique and saw the exact same plaid flannel shirts same brand and everything for triple the cost! I’ve found some great stuff at Burlington!

  9. Bunny

Target has some really cute clothes. Maybe do the same thing there?

I’ve enjoyed these posts so much Collin. Great job and look forward to the next adventure!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks Bunny!

  10. Amy

I loved Walmart Wednesday. Bummed! But on the positive side, I won’t spend as much money on clothes and shoes now because I bought a lot of things you featured on Walmart Wednesday because you all looked so adorable in them.

  11. Jenny

What about something focused on some type of community service or environmental cause? With so many readers, you could really make an impact on something that matters!

    • Mia

      I love that idea.

      • Shirley Yeo

Love that too – local or international to help those so much in need! πŸ™‚

      • jami

        Me too!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the suggestion, Jenny! I will definitely pass it along to the rest of the team! πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love, love , LOVE this idea!!! πŸ™Œ

    • Amy

      Great idea.

    • hmeye819

I LOVE this idea! Maybe repurposing items/giving a second life to items at thrift stores or garage sales would be a cool topic idea.

    • Lexie

Maybe places or charities to donate items to when you find such great prices on them.

  12. Ann

Maybe Aldis. They are so hit and miss with some other items. I’m always reading about other people suggestions on what to try there.. I will miss your Walmart Post though.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I would love to do ALDI, but we sadly don’t have any ALDI locations in Idaho. πŸ˜”

    • Abby

We are putting together an ALDI collection right now actually & it will be posted soon on sixcleversisters.com 😊😊😊 You can find some about it on our FB page.

  13. Little Bee

    Georgia is adorable!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Isn’t she CUTE?!

  14. babymair

Thx Collin and team, I really wanna say thx…and I am now buying clothes at walmart, . That I never thought I would .keep up the good work…and God bless you..

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Aww, thank you so much for the sweet comment! You are so welcome!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the kind words. ❀️

  15. Emily

Aww man! I was going to send you my own Walmart Wednesday outfit! I found a clearance section of hanes sweatpants and sweat shirts. I got some maroon sweat pants and a grey sweatshirt for $1 each! Sure, your outfit is much cuter, but I live in sweats in the evenings after work and I was super excited that they were just $1. Anytime someone walked by that shelf in the clothing section, I said – “hey, these are just $1 in case you needed any sweats! I’m sorry, the smalls are all in my cart”

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Wow, that is a SWEET find! We sure appreciate you sharing!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

WOW!! Please send it my way – I’d love to see pics, collin@hip2save.com

What HOT buys at just $1 each!

  16. Amanda Musico

Would love restaurant copycat recipes to make at home on a budget!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Great suggestion, Amanda! I’ll pass it along! πŸ™‚

    • Angi

      I second this idea!!
Or how to cook for a large family on a budget !

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love these suggestions! Thanks so much!

  17. JA

Georgia is super cute! And I NEED Michelle’s cardigan. Bye-bye, Walmart Wednesday. I’ll miss youπŸ˜₯

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      😭

  18. keesh

Keri Target does price match azamon.com

  19. Rachel

How about birthday parties on a budget with a couple of different themes? Thanks for everything!

    • Crissy

      Love the birthday party idea!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love this idea!! Our Lina probably has some great ideas up her sleeve!

  20. Elaine

    Thrift stores!!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh my… how I LOVE a good day of thrift store shoppin’! πŸ˜ƒ

  21. Damey

I would love to see fashion for the home or family from Target!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I love the idea of sharing home decor ideas! 😍 Thanks for the suggestion.

  22. Suzanne

I hate Wally World so, am glad that you’re changing things up. How about doing the same thing only at Target or Kohl’s?

  23. peazgrl

Well rounded meals on the cheap. Dime Dinners.

    • emilymoto

      I like this!

    • jen-CT

Definitely! EASY recipes and inexpensive ingredients…. that everyone will love! It’s not easy to do at my house….

  24. Emily

I like the idea of birthday parties… Maybe a themed party using only dollar tree stuff or something like that.
I also thought of aldi. I love aldi but I know others aren’t sold on it. Maybe an aldi’s dinner verses major grocery store chain. Make the same meal and compare the cost and taste.

  25. Ellen

What about travel destinations for families on the cheap? What to do, where to eat, where to stay in various US cities?

    • Emily

      Love this!

    • Shirley Yeo

      Fun Idea! πŸ™‚
We are on a year long EdVenture with our two 13 year olds and finding LOTS of unique, fun and fascinating things to do across US and Canada!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Eeeeekkk…. LOVE this!! I love to travel, but also hate the cost so it would be awesome to share great tips! Thank you!

  26. Marla

I vote for thrift shop Thursday. After all, most of us money savers are avid thrifters.

    • Damey

      Love this idea!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      FUN! πŸ™Œ

    • Sarah

Love it. But super sad to see Wal-Mart Wednesday go.

  27. AP

I really appreciate the time and effort put into the posts, but personally I’m glad. I come here for deals and never understood the point of a post full of full priced (albeit cheap) items that I can find at Walmart in my own in any given day. People say if you don’t like it, keep scrolling, but the titles didn’t make it clear it was a walmart Wednesday post. I like some of the other ideas here, but I personally hope you don’t repeat this for other stores like some have suggested. I’ll still check the app 100 times a day either way, but wanted to add two cents from another perspective. Thanks!!!

    • AP

Sorry, my thumbs always type “in” when I mean “on”. πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I appreciate you taking the time to give your honest feedback, and will definitely pass along to the team.

    • mel

I feel the opposite. If it weren’t for the Walmart Wednesdays, I would have NEVER ventured to the clothing, shoes or jewelry sections! I am not a big WM shopper, maybe once every other month for grocery items that I might need. But I was able to get some tee’s and shoes for myself that if it weren’t for the Hip team, I would have never known to even look! I browsed the boys section last wk and was pleasantly at the selection and bought quite a few shirts and a pair of shorts for under $40 for my youngest. I think Hip2Save is more than just cheap deals and I’m glad they offer a variety of posts.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear it, Mel! Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  28. Renee Keeney

How about a date night series…like on a budget of $20 or less…which would include dinner and activity…lunch and activity…etc. Something different than the typical rent a dvd and eat McDonald’s on a budget idea😊

    • Emily

I like this too! So many good ideas!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

YES!! Love this idea too! Thank you.

  29. susan

I would like to have the site have more saving ideas that do not involve spending. The majority of posts are aligned with buying things at a store.

    • Tracie

I have always thought of this site being about saving money on everyday purchases, for all types of families…. I love it! If it’s not your cup of tea, there are plenty of budgeting, investing, or “making due” with what you have blogs….just google it. I think I’m in the majority when I say Hip2save is the first place to come to for hot deals that help families save on purchases. It’s been my favorite money saving blog for years, and I hope it continues to help us find the best deals.

      • ann

hmm, that would be like going on a cooking blog and asking them to not do posts about food. lol Buying stuff is what we do! I agree with you, there are enough blogs about re-purposing and all that.

  30. Emily

Doesn’t look like my post went through (bad connection) so sorry if this posts twice.
I like the idea of birthday parties. Maybe a themed party but only using supplies from the dollar tree?
I also thought about aldi. I love aldi but I know that not everyone is sold on it. Maybe you could do an aldi dinner verses a major chain grocery store dinner. Taste and price comparison.
I’ll look forward to seeing what’s next!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the suggestions!

  31. Cat Lady

    I enjoyed the Walmart ideas.
I’m heading over to get the kitty shoes for my granddaughter!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aren’t those SO cute?! Love ’em!

  32. Olgraygirl

I don’t really avoid it, but I know lots of folks do–what about Big Lots?? They have lots of patio, garden and other seasonal items that you guys could really dig into. They also have some bargains on gourmet food items. I am going to miss Walmart Wed’s, tho…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I LOVE Big Lots! Great idea!

  33. cpnkay

Oh nooooo!!! I LOVED these posts!! I’m super sad to see them go! I have bought so many items from Walmart because of this post, and I typically never shop there very much. It’s been so fun on Wednesdays! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. I’m not sure I have too many other ideas. I love Target but it’s a lot easier for me to find cute stuff there, and it’s never as inexpensive as what you have been finding at Walmart! Thanks for everything you guys do!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, and I’m so happy to hear you’ve enjoyed the series and bought some of the clothing we’ve been lovin’! 😍

  34. Jeanette

Thank you girls for all of your hard work

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awww… you’re so welcome. Thanks for the comment!

  35. Marie

I’m looking forward to something different. I don’t care for Walmart and their employment practices at all so I won’t support them and am glad you are ending this. However, I love and support H2S, so I look forward to the next thing you have coming. Thanks for all you do for us.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Marie! I appreciate the kind words.

  36. JJ

What about creating knock-off home decor and other things using primarily Dollar tree items? Dollar Tree has really been stepping up their game and I’m always amazed at the things I can find there recently!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Ummmm… SO LOVE this idea! Many of us on the Hip2Save team are a wee bit Dollar Tree obsessed so this would be a fun challenge! Thanks much!

  37. Michelle Pacheco

Ohhh no. I loved the Wal-Mart Wednesday deal. Hopefully you bring it back one day. I actually have the tank Collin is wearing and pair it with a blue sweater.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      We are twinning! πŸ˜‰

  38. Donna

Aldi is my vote. Cheap prices on food and recipe ideas using those low price food finds.
    Also their weekly merchandise sales.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I would love this, but no ALDI in Idaho as of yet… hopefully one day.

  39. Renita.

I have enjoyed the Walmart fashion shows, picking up many ideas from watching. Actually I have copied many outfits top to bottom. Looking forward to your new challenges, whatever you decide on.

  40. Malinda

Hip2Save does a wonderful job alerting us to great deals. I appreciate all information I get from you in any way that you choose to present it! It’s my daily fix to check back in several times a day. Thanks so much 😘

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awww… thanks so much for the super sweet comment. 😘

  41. rlstevens5

I enjoyed the Walmart Wednesdays! Their clothes have really come a long way! Maybe you could find or craft some Z Gallerie knock-offs or find some of the bargains at Ross/TJ Maxx/Burlington.

  42. Carrie

I love the idea of thrift store finds:
    Outfits
    Furniture
    Artwork
    Repurpose or upcycling ideas
    Toys
    Jewelry
    It’s like treasure hunting!!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Me too… SO FUN!! 😍

  43. Amy

I’d love to see a challenge featuring Costco deals, like how many different ways can you use a bulk item in your home, and if it is a food can it be frozen, how many ways can you use it after it’s frozen, etc.

    • Hannah

      I love this Costco idea!

    • Jen D

I like this Costco idea!!! We got a membership about 6mos ago and I feel like we only buy a few things there because it’s always so busy you can’t really browse leisurely. I’d love to learn about more good products there esp food items and ideas on how to use them in recipes!

  44. lynnipoo

Goodwill is very popular right now.

  45. Jennifer

I would like to see you take a home decor item and make it for cheaper! The dollar tree designs are always cool! Things that could be expensive but look just as nice at a lesser cost.

  46. cj

    Just a suggestion….

Is there any way to narrow down coupon deals and store deals to make the deals a bit more personal? For instance, on store sites online, you can put in a price range, narrow down a search by color or size, click the box to see if something is available at a store near you, etc. I have noticed that many of the deals shown use printable coupons, Ibotta, etc, all of which I don’t use. It would be awesome for me personally to have settings on your site so I don’t see Ibotta deals or deals where you need to print coupons. It would make my day to be able to log on daily and see deals I CAN DO, instead of sort through many deals I can’t do. I know I am probably asking the impossible, but just putting a bug in your ear just in case!

Also, thanks for the Walmart Wednesdays! It was funny that I had just started a new job and had spent less than $100 at Walmart on 8 new outfits the week before you started posting about it! They really do have some nice clothes for nicer prices! Thanks for the online fashion show!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you SO much for the feedback! This is really helpful, and I am passing along to the team.

  47. Stephanie

I haven’t read all the comments, but kroger is supposed to be debuting a clothes line soon right? I would love to see you tackle that!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      WOW! I didn’t know that!

  48. Sara

I am sad to see this go, I really enjoyed it. It has made me rethink not shopping at Walmart. πŸ˜ͺ Until the next challenge.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

We are sad too… but I have a strong feeling we will do another Walmart series in the next few months! Stay tuned!

  49. Abby

Costco & Sams! I can never tell which items are actually a good deal without a bunch of research first! 😊

  50. ana

What if you did a deal with some of the small Etsy shops? That would help them get started as well as be really interesting.
Alpine Baby Company is the cutest, along with love birds sewing company and little pine artistry.
