Awesome deal! I’d never heard of these. My neice is really into this type of stuff and this will be a great gift for her to work on and enjoy! Something unique. Thanks!

How fun! Hope she loves it Jackie! You’re so welcome!

This is the best price, but Walmart (& others) are selling the Meccano code robots for $20, so Target’s original price was a little inflated 😝

    • je

I went to the Walmart site to confirm and their original price was at $39.97 so I don’t think Target’s price is inflated at all.

    • DealLovinMama

That’s like saying Walmart’s price is inflated because Target has it for $12.50. They both have the same original price.

Sweet – I have two 8 year old bdays coming up (plus got two more for the gift closet) and these will make great gifts!

  4. Lauren

Thank you! Needed a birthday gift for this weekend and this was perfect!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Such a fun gift idea Lauren! You’re welcome!

  5. Aly

Is this an online-only deal? The website shows the product not available in stores in my area.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Aly! It looks like store availability can vary one these. I do find them all still available online for shipping. Hope that helps!

Awesome! The tooth fairy is just about to be in need of a gift and this is perfect!

    • Stephanie

Wow. The tooth fairy must be different in my area. We have never got toys!

      • ana

I got .10 and .25 if he was feeling generous.

    • GotItTogetherish

Had to give a LEGO set from the toy closet when the tooth fairy was out of cash one time. Now that’s what they all think the tooth fairy gives. Lol

      • Cathy

I had no cash one night for the tooth fairy so I just told him he’d have to wait till the next night because the Tooth Fairy had already started her rounds for that night. It worked. Lol🤣🤣

    • GotItTogetherish

And for sure this tooth fairy is way more generous than the one that visited me when I was a kid. Lol

    • rebecca

i would hate trying to sleep with this under my pillow.

      • *Angela-Miles*

rebecca your comment was priceless 🙂 Lmbo. Thanks for the laugh 😉

I got this a little over a year ago for my son. My husband tried to put it together for him, but said it was really difficult and the instructions were poor. It now sits in a Rubbermaid container on a bookshelf, still not done. Waste of money. 😧

    • jess

I had a different experience..got it for my niece and nephew and they totally were able to build it with adult direction but loved every step of the way. There are like a gazillion parts so I suggest organizing them before getting started. All the kids and adults were enjoying the little robots coming together, moving, speaking, interacting. It did take a while to build but was fun. Also it was almost necessary for the kids to put it together as it seems some steps are easier for tiny hands.

      • Jess

Which one did you get? I want to get one for my daughter, but don’t know which is best. She’s 10 and very capable. Thanks!

        • jess

I got “basher” and “green switch” from Walmart when they were on a similar clearance sale. I’ll be getting the bigger meccanoid robot next time since the niece and nephew were so into the micronoids. Best of all they all interact with each other.

I have purchased 2 of these robots for my grandsons (ages 11 and 8) in the past. This is a really good deal! They ARE a bear to put together. Plan on a lot of time and be organized. BUT, both boys absolutely love them! They even interact with each other and will make you laugh your head off. Well worth the pain of assembly. Note – keep the instructions and extra parts. As the robots ‘walk’ some screws get loose and can be lost. This toy takes extra care and maintenance. Still worth it!

  9. Kristy

I picked up Max for my husband. He’s a big kid and loves lego and the other meccano sets that aren’t robots. He’s and electronics engineer so there’s no telling how long before he’s hacking it lol

  10. Sarah

My 17 year old bought all of the ones he didn’t already have plus the MAX for his soon to be 10 year old sister’s birthday, with the promise that he will help her with it. He absolutely loves them. Like he said, unlike Lego sets which you build and then put away, he builds these, learns something while doing it, enjoys looking at them even if they are on a shelf, but is always happy to take them out and play with them with his little sisters. Glad he’s going to a STEM college next year!

That is so sweet of him to share his love of these with his younger sis!
