hi guys 🙂 since making own laundry soap i no longer use chemical filled gain or tide. i mix one bar shaved pink zote bar soap from walmart dissolve in boiling water 5 gallon bucket add more hot water stir add 2 cup borax stir add more hot water to mid top stir. the coolest part is this is like a natural laundry soap and it will GEL overnight!!!!! i made this version recipe my self and it does gel overnight as it cools:)

    • Deb E

Very cool and I will give it a try for my sensitive skin. I avoid the chemicals and preservatives too. Thanks for the directions!

    • Green eye beauty

      Thanks
How much do you use for a full load of laundry?

    • Lo

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. Do you think I could put in an ice tray or a mold to make my own pods?

      • harlow

hi guys yes this soap really is cool. my coworker gave me a version of it first and i added my own twist, i use about 2-3 c per load of soap from the full 5 gallon bucket:) cleans well gets out stains. i had a rag with make up on it that tide wouldn’t even get out–but the homemade did:) LO– i don’t think the models would hold very well in the ice trays because its kind of like gooey get firm yet gooey not sure? maybe just try it 🙂

If you get the Gain ones, be careful how you store them. Mine melted into a goopy disaster

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

OH no! That sounds like a mess. So sorry they melted on ya! Thanks for the tip! 🙂

  3. keesh

    Thanks Harlow

  4. Kel

How do I use them? I don’t see a bar code the cashier can scan!

    • Cindy

Kel- you type in your phone number at the register. 🙂

    • CaseyB

You usually put in your phone number in the keypad.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Kel! When you are at the checkout counter, be sure to sign in to your DG account on the key pad where you swipe your bank card. You will be able to enter in your phone number associated with your account. This way, all of your coupons will be automatically deducted! SO easy! Hope that helps!

      • Leona

I realize I am probably behind, but how is this done? Sign in to your account on the Key pad?

  5. Sue

Is there a good deal with using the $5 off $30 of gain products? There are lots of gain product coupons.

  6. SANDRA

    Nice thank u.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome!

  7. Cara

Fyi- the $3 coupon does not work for the 16 count flings.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Cara! I’m so sorry that did not work for you. I do see that it excludes the 12 and 14 count, but the 16 counts should work. Were you able to speak with a manager?

    • Paul

Not a problem, for me, because I couldn’t find the 16-counts, between 3 locations.

    • Lisa

The $2 Gain coupon came off for me. I got the 14 count. The coupon read to me that it includes the 12-14 count, not that those are excluded.

      • mel

There’s 2 different coupons. The Gain specific is good on the 12-14 ct Flings. The one that says Tide Pods or Gain Flings, excludes the 12-14 ct, but valid on the 16 ct.

  8. Rachel

The coupon came off with no problems. 🙂

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yay! Super glad you could easily grab the savings Rachel! I LOVE it when Dollar General has these digital coupons available on detergent!

  9. mindy

I literally just did it – first time ever using Dollar General coupons and it worked perfectly on the purple Gain Flings 16 ct. They said $4.95, but rang up $3.95 and the $3.00 coupon came off! Thanks so much! I LOVE Gain Flings!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

AWESOME! I have really liked the Gain Flings too! My clothes smell SO good with each scent!

I did this deal yesterday twice using two separate phones. I got $30 worth of Gain products for $10.50, two times. I used the $5/25 and all the high value Gain $3, $2 coupons. I love the smell of Gain.
