I love the features on this machine, and I especially love the ease with which I can make bread. Less mess and less wear and tear on my arthritic hands. I usually use only the dough cycle after which I shape the loaf and bake it my oven. I make bread for family members also which means this bread machine is in use almost daily. It is a real workhorse!

I make my bread in the machine,you have to buy bread flour for a lot of the recipes and bread machine yeast. Look at the prices in your are for these items, it might be comparable to what you pay. But, the home made loaf is just divine.

Really no need for a bread machine. Just look up Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day and Zoe Francois. You need a flour, yeast, water and salt. Easy to learn how to change flours, use oils,make rolls, pitas, cinnamon rolls, rustic loaves. I think it ends up costing less than .50 for a basic boule.
Any gluten free options??
