Today Is the LAST DAY to Use Your ToysRUs Gift Cards

Hip2Save may earn a small commission via affiliate links in this post. Read our full disclosure policy here.

Today, Saturday April 21st, is the very LAST day you can use your ToysRUs gift cards! Keep in mind, the stores will remain open, but as of the close of business today, ToysRUs gift cards will no longer be accepted, and the store will not exchange them for cash.

You can read more about this here. Plus, you can check your gift card balance here to see how much you need to spend.

(Thanks, Benjamin!)

Does this mean the discount % will go up tomorrow? It has been at 10% for quite a while.

I went into my store here in Michigan because I received an email saying up to 40%. And the only items that were 40% off were the birthday bags, cards, wrapping paper, etc. WTH? Toys R US really? Majority of the store is still at 10% and very few items at 15%. Guess I’ll be waiting a bit longer…

I’m in Michigan as well, and whenever I drive by I’m still not seeing any sales. I wonder if they’ve even made any money off of doing this?

I was in the store and only had 10% and 15% , Seasonal and was all they had 40% off, The big sign they have in the front of the store says up to 40% You can’t see the up to 40% off, the person working said she didn’t know when the discount would go down, I didn’t see any good deals didn’t really need anything anyway, Toy r us will screw people over on prices, Maybe that is why they are going out of business

Everything in the store is still more expenskve than amazon.

  4. Ben

I was told that Toys R Us Doesn’t set the prices anymore it’s a liquidator that does that

In California it’s 10% for everything except LEGO (5%); party stuff (40%); bikes stuff (5%). Not the greatest deals, but I had gift cards that needed to be used. Ooh well!!

  6. Mel

I’m in Michigan and most of my store was 15-30% off plus an extra 10% off the entire purchase.

Last day to use gift cards in GA was a loooong time ago. Lol

It’s weird how different it is in different parts of the country. In N.C. both my nearest TRU and BRU are already closed. I got a few things at about 70% off – including an American girl wellie wisher stage.

And yet there’s people coming out with bags and bags stuffed to the brim 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

The discounts were mostly 10% here, some 20%. They have hidden clearance though. It’s horribly marked but if you look on the tags with the SKUs you’ll see it marked in tiny letters clearance… was $19.99 now 4.99 or something like that. I found a girls pom design studio originally $29.99 marked down to $9.99 and then you get the 10% off for the liquidation. Watch at the register though. I brought something up that rang up for several dollars more than the tag and the manager refused to price adjust. She said it’s whatever it rings up as in the computer per the liquidation company and she’d lose her job if she changed it.

    • SJ

      Uh…she’s already losing her job…

    • Ashley

I did the same thing. I walked the whole store looking for clearance items and got the discount on top of those. I’ll wait until the week before they close before I do any kind of big haul.

I stopped by the TRU in Mechanicsburg, PA last week and was told that they are still getting trucks from the warehouse and expect to be open for months. Toys were only 5%-10% off. Gift wrap & cards were 30% off.

I went to the Grand Rapids Michigan store. They don’t have any of their baby stuff like PediaSure formula or baby food on liquidation sale. You would think that if they were going out of business they would have everything on sale and at a better percentage off. I think they do not want to go out of business so that’s why they’re percentage of sucks.

  13. Stasia

Yup. Here in Southern CA. Mostly 10 to 15% off. Furniture was 20%. No discount on diapers, baby wipes, formula or baby food. Really? ?I thought it was a liquidation sale?
