These aren’t REALLY Hunter boots. They’re cheaper “Hunter for Target” that seem to be lower quality materials — the reviews on these cheaper things are not good. Wait for Costco to get the real Hunter boots in — very thick, last for years and years. These Target things described in the reviews sound like they may be thinner, cheaper mass-market boots that look like the real thing, but aren’t the same quality.

I love the size of the lilac tote. It fits my 13 inch Macbook air perfectly, doesn’t hang weird on my back and the straps are very sturdy. It has a tiny side pocket that you can hide keys and money, and a magnetic closure which I love. I thought it just flapped and closed. I find the yellow one a little big for everyday use but will keep it for weekend road trips. Lilac will be for daily use.

Sarah-Rene says…

At first I was excited but then when I got to the store I was very disappointed. It wasn’t impressed at all. The quality and style of the shoes look cheap. Even some of the tote. The clothes are okay. But really, it’s not worth the money. I thought all the items were gonna be gone and wiped out by the time I got there at 2pm but I was wrong. It’s full stocks and there were no customers looking or buying it. Yes, they look great online, but not in person.

looks like you may need to just check amazon !!

I bought an outdoor blanket. I needed it for an event that evening and it served its purpose but after I got home I realized some of the stiching was already loose/manufacturing flaw. I would give it a mehhh review.

  3. Misty

Thank you for the heads up! I looked at buying a windbreaker, but ended up buying one from Zulily instead (better price).

I bought several backpacks as my two daughters wanted one and I wanted a medium size lilac. I had to return one for stitching flaws and one had “nick” in the fabric. I called customer service. The refunded me $15; so I kept it since it was on the inside flap.

I ended up purchasing one of the unisex rain coats (the pull over type) and I love it!! I coach a baseball team where the weather is rain rain and more rain this time of year, and it is perfect for it. I checked out the remainder of the selection and nothing really grabbed my attention.

I bought short green boots with orange insert, yellow rain jacket, trench jacket, lilac and yellow book bag and red bumbag. I am no complaints with any of it. The boots are super comfy, the trench is very classy and perfect for work even on non rainy days, while the yellow slicker is fun for weekends. I am still using my lilac bag for everyday and my mom is in love with her bum bag, esp the little hole for her headphones so she can keep her phone in the bag but surly answer calls and listen to music, I don’t regret getting up at 3 am or my choices. I do wish i had gotten one more pair of the short boots (maybe in pink) now that the long aren’t coming out because these are going to be great for snow days.

I don’t know why everyone wants these

    • nkis

      I agree.

      • Jenny

I don’t understand either. I got great rainboots for $10 at tractor supply, they also sell them at rural king. They are durable I’ve had them 5 years.

        • Alea

I love my TSC boots!!! You can’t beat the price either!

        • amykpta

Yep, I’ve had a pair of hot pink Tractor supply boots for years and get compliments almost every time I wear them!

          • Joy

Oooo. I live right near a TSC. Never thought to check there for rain boots. Apparently rain boots and duck boots are hot fashion items at the high school I teach at.

    • Casey

I also agree. Don’t own or need rain boots.

  8. Mamaof3

I got the men’s tall boots for myself in black. Compared to the women’s real Hunter tall black boots, I can hardly tell a difference (I tried both on at once) and it saves me at least $80! For rainboots, which I will hardly wear, I’m happy with this. I also got a black hat, yellow raincoat, and boots for my toddlers. No complaints.

Everything I wanted was sold out online and my local Target didn’t get anything. I did find some nice gardening mud boots at Aldi for $10!

  10. Mrsjustus

I ordered 2 pairs of toddler rain boots the stripped glossy ones were better quality but still not great even for a basic rain boot. The yellow ones I ordered look like I bought knock off rainboots the reflective tape wasn’t even put in the spot it was supposed to be the mold for the shoe had a lot of imperfections. Overall super disappointing and most likely will be returning them both.

  11. Flgrl017

I agree with the review that suggests you buy the real Hunter at a discount. It’s really pretty easy to find on sale. Nordstrom Rack & 6 pm are my go tos, but I’ve bought a pair at saks for $60 that retailed for almost $200.

  12. Pansy

I looked at the girls rain boots and they seemed really heavy and awkward. I asked other moms on Facebook and they all said the boots are cheaply made.

  13. Dene

Can’t find any Hunter products at any of the Target stores along the Gulf coast near me. That’s okay though. With all of the talk about how cheaply made they are, they most definitely wouldn’t hold up in these parts.

  14. Casey

Why is everyone so obsesses with this brand?

    • Tia

I had never heard of it until I saw a post here.

  15. B

I think it was a great idea, bought some shoes and the dress. I love them, as someone who owns a pair of real Hunter boots didn’t see a real big difference besides the obvious which is the price, a win for my pockets in my opinion!

  16. K

I bought a few keychains, a rubber wristlet, and the $50 cooler backpack. I’ve been really happy with the purchases!

For those wondering the hype around the boots… I don’t believe it’s really that they’re incredibly practical, but rather the brand name itself. Similar to how popular Coach purses are/were…it’s the name.

  17. Sara

Can someone please recommend a place where I can buy women’s tall wide calf rain boots that aren’t ugly? I have wide calves, and I want to be able to tuck my jeans into the boots.

I don’t want black, brown, orange, white, or paisley. I also don’t want an emoji pattern. I HATE the poop emoji. I don’t want to wear poop, drink from it, or have it float in a swimming pool.

    • nicole

Look up Chooka Versa. I have large, athletic calves and these fit with plenty of room to spare because they are adjustable. I have the purple color ones that have a nice floral print accent in the back expansion flap. They are super comfortable and flexible, even to drive in.

      • Sara

I forgot to mention that I also need wide width. I looked at the size chart for Chooka Versa. It doesn’t look like they make wide width boots.

        • nicole

Hmm. I do have pretty wide feet and they feel fine. They’re not nearly as stiff and unforgiving as some rainboots out there. Maybe worth trying to find a retailer locally that sells them to try on or order from a place that has free returns. Good luck, it took me a long time to find rain boots that are perfect for me. But they existed!

          • Sara

According to their size chart, an 8 is 82mm wide. My feet are 102mm wide.

            • nicole

The numbers had me thinking, and I honestly never measured the width of my foot, but I was curious and just did, and my foot is 100mm wide. I thought that seemed like a huge discrepancy for a boot that fits me so comfortably (listed as 87mm) and the sole measures 100mm across at the widest point. So now I’m thinking that size chart they list is kind of misleading. It’s probably a good argument for not always trusting size charts. No idea why the manufacturer’s information is off by so much.

          • Sara

That is rougly 3/8 of an inch more on each side of my foot. Do you think that would make the difference between a snug fit and painfully tight?

            • nicole

Really couldn’t answer that for you, but that’s why I think you have nothing to lose if you purchase from a place with free returns. I normally wear a 9 or 9.5 and actually purchased a 10, and they’re not ridiculously long, so I guess my larger shoe size does give me a tiny bit more width in it. I am also a Californian and wear thin socks, so that also helps me. Another brand I was looking into was Jileon, which claims to be the widest boot available for women in both foot and calf. Good luck!

  18. Alea Shinn

Honestly, it seems to the story for most the designer brands they bring in, hence the lower price. They aren’t going to have the same high quality at $40 that they do at $100.

  19. Trish

I love hunter as I come from the uk and they have been around for over a hundred years my parents had them when they were young. They were never considered to be a designer brand they were always a hard wearing welly boot until they started making them outside of the UK.

  20. Laura

The Target by me had a big sign above the Hunter merchandise that said that Hunter items had only a 14 day return policy.

  21. Jennifer Schmidt

I bought a couple outfits – the blue romper and black mesh dress – and I’m happy with the quality for the price. Lots of nice details.

  22. GotItTogetherish

I’m not sure I understand all the Hunter hype. I am missing something?

  23. PCarmentT

I scouted out the rainboots I wanted as soon as I received the e-mail about them from Target. On the release date I went to my neighborhood Target to see if I could maybe find my size if it hadn’t been picked over yet. To my surprise, I was met with half-stocked shelves that were obviously never fully stocked and cheap-looking products. I decided to order the olive and black dipped canvas boots online anyway. The boots ran small (I wear a 9.5) and felt incredibly cheap. The material was thin and didn’t seem like it would prevent water penetration. I wanted the Hunter for Target line to be so much better than it is but it didn’t live up to the Hunter name. I returned the boots the same day. No wonder Target postponed the tall boots and ended up inevitably cancelling them altogether! Very disappointing.
