how funny, if you purchase it online, you have to submit the rebate by snail-mail. If you purchase in-store, you submit the rebate electronically. HAHA

    • Liza (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for mentioning the in-store process, Adam! I’ve updated the post with the info.

    • Roger E Lau

never got my rebate! They said there was no purchase date on my receipt? how more clear can it be on a receipt? Never trust again!

  2. Rockstar

Doh! Just missed the window. I bought my paint a week before the qualifying window 😢

    • Adam

Re-buy it. Just have them return and resell you what you bought. If you just so happen to run into someone who is coueless to why you would want to do that, but the same exact paint again and return it on the old receipt (don’t get it tinted)

  3. Hillary

FYI the marquee is not one coat – beware! Plus they only guarantee if you choose one of their approved colors

    • Anna

I can vouch for this comment, I just painted my bathroom last night with marquee and it is definitely not one coat.

  4. Kay

Thanks. I’ve been watching for a sale on paint at Home Depot – this works for me!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Perfect! You’re welcome Kay!

How is Behr paint? We need to paint almost the entire interior of our new home (3,000+ sf), but DH is a paint snob. He used to paint in college as a side job so now will only use Sherwin Williams or Ben Moore ($$$). I’ll be doing most of the work so could sneak in some other stuff, but don’t want to waste money/time on more coats of paint. I’ve heard good things, but never used Behr. Good, bad…ugly??

    • Katy

Hey! So I have never replied to a comment on here before, (but I love reading them) until now!! Because this is THAT important to me to say… Your husband is right… Sherwin Williams is truly a superior paint by FAR. I have painted our entire home in the last couple years and only recently have we switched to SW (professional painter gave us the low-down in what all the pros use!) … I’m so regretful that the switch wasn’t done much sooner. It’s got the best coverage, dries the smoothest, durable and feels so luxurious. All of the other paint brands had to have a minimum of two coats on EVERY surface (including the primed walls), Sherwin Williams was not the case… A beautiful coat each time with minor, if that, touch ups (mostly due to user error!) So here’s my takeaway.. For walls in your home, go SW. But this is a good rebate deal, so if you’re interested in using Behr for a furniture uplift, then go for it! Whew, that a long! Thanks for sticking it out with me!

    • Mona

Ive used the Behr paint with the primer ($42 gal) in it and it covers everything in one coat easily. So far I’ve used only 4 gal for approx half my 2,800 sq ft home w/9 ft ceilings. Paint has little to no odor and dries quickly. I really like this paint. I’ve used other brands in the past but none have been this great for a one coat paint like this one

    • hmeye819

Just painted my entire interior in behr and the coverage was TERRIBLE. I got the midgrade one (not most expensive, not the cheapest one either) which was supposed to be one coat and the entire house still needed a second coat. Couldn’t return it because it was all tinted. I will NEVER buy behr again. Save your money and go Sherwin

  6. Teran

Does anyone know if this this a cash rebate or a store credit rebate like Menards does?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Teran! You rebate will arrive in the form of a Home Depot Prepaid Mastercard.

  7. Jessica

We don’t have a HomeDepot near us but we do have a Lowe’s. Anyone know if this available at Lowe’s too? Or if they will price match?

    • Elizabeth

Lowes has a similar offer. I’m considering them if I can also get the 5% off using their Lowes card.

      • Jessica

        What’s the Lowe’s offer? I haven’t seen one.

    • Mona Canary

I’ve been purchasing my Home Depot paint online & it come well packed in 2-3 days.

Re quality of Behr paint. My son is a professional painter. 15 years. While he loves sherwin Williams, he says behr is FAR superior than SW. years ago behr wasn’t as good but now it’s better. so don’t hesitate to buy. TIP- buy untinted if you know you’ll be painting soon but are unsure of color. But be careful. There are different base colors for lighter vs darker shades. Check with the paint dept staff before you buy. Also if you select a color and apply it and it’s not right, any good paint store (HD or SW) can work with you to get the right shade.

I have a home improvement question for ya’ll. I need to paint the wall next to my stove and it’s got food stain from use over 5 years. Would it be alright to clean it with a Mr. Clean Eraser, paint it over with Killz or paint over it with the primer and paint (I doubt that but I thought I’d give that as an option.)

  10. Janell Poulette

We built our house and the painters used Sherwin Williams and it was horrible because it was flat paint. I decide to do my dining room with a satin from SW and it is not a good quality. So when it was time to do my daughters room I went to PPG paints and did the same satin finish. It’s a million times better. We just did our kitchen in PPG pains and its so nice. There was no need for a second coat in the kitchen or my daughter’s bedroom. We also bought some samples because we are getting ready to paint the main floor and we will be using PPG paints. See if you qualify for any discounts. Because of the HOA our neighborhood is connected to – we get 40% off paints at PPG so it beats most sales. And I have gone in there and bought mess up paints for $1 a gallon and .25 cents for a quart. (I actually also did my bathroom in a $1 mess up color from PPG and I also love it!)

If I bought 5 gal behr paint on 5/28 6pm and did not go on line for rebate for a week later, do I get rebate or not?

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

As long as you purchased it by 5/28 and your rebate is postmarked no later than 6/28/2018 you should get it.

      • Helen Hubler

Not so, Holly, the paint rebate submission was only for specific paints bought between May 17, 2018 through May 28, 2018 and had to be submitted before May 28, 2017, not on that day. If you go to the website it’s very specific. However; I submitted my on time and I’m still waiting for my rebate THREE moths later. Still trying to get mine I’m thinking of going to our local newspaper reporter that goes after people or companies who try to rip off consumers.

I made the purchased and for 2 weeks tried to submit on line. the site had issues. I went on vacation and now can not find my paper form from home depot. I went to the home depot site and can no longer down load. I think there is a purpose to not let me get to the rebate money. If there is anyone that can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks

  21. Chandra Pike

Who do I call to see where my rebate is? I haven’t received it yet?

  22. Robin Bailey

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hmm, I did find this number to the rebate center where you can call to check on the status of your rebate – 866.451.1357 Hope that helps!

  23. Helen Hubler

This is regarding the paint rebate of May 2018. The rebate offer states that buying specific paints and submitting the rebate between 5/17/18 through 5/28/18. Well, I purchased my Behr Premium Textured Deckover paint and the painting associate even told me to be careful because the rebate comes to you through the USPS as a credit card so don’t throw it away. After waiting 3 months for my rebate I decided to go to the Home Depot rebate site. It said my rebate tracking number was INVALID. Hum, so I went to the HELP section of Home Depot and chatted with a young man named SAMUEL. He said he looked up my tracking number and it was listed in the site but NOW I NEED TO SCAN THE STORE RECEIPT AND THE TRACKING PAGE THAT INCLUDES THE NUMBER AND SEND THEM IN AS A PDF, JEPG OR TIF FILES. Now here the kicker, he gave me a web address to send them too that DOESN’T EXIST. Yep, but, they haven’t heard the last of me, I’m relentless and never give up. So watch out Home Depot, here I come, I’m thinking our local newspaper reporter that goes after people and companies that try to rip off consumers. Think about how many people from Home Depot never received their rebates, some one there has a nice bank account based on consumers that never received rebates, I’m just saying. Think about it.
