Hmm, I don’t want anyone having a reason to scratch or sniff my child. Not a well thought out product in my opinion. And I have boys. A girl’s tank top with a “scratch & sniff” design across the chest? I’m really surprised that would even make it into stores.

    • C

I agree! Not a clothing line Iā€™d feel comfortable dressing my kids in.

    • Windsormis

      Agreed.

    • DSch

Oh, boy, I was thinking the same thing. Don’t need any “defense” to say, well, I only wanted to scratch and sniff your child.

    • Katie

I thought it was a fun idea! I doubt strangers will think to even come up and “scratch and sniff” a child’s shirt. It looks like any other children’s tank top.

      • Sarah

Thank you, I had the exact same thought as soon as I saw ā€œscratch and sniffā€. And whatā€™s with all the weird food obsession stuff on products these days? Pizza and donut pool floats? Bananas on little boys shorts? I donā€™t know, I just get a weird feeling about all that stuff.

    • cat

Lighten up people. There isn’t anything sadistic about the scratch & sniff shirts. It is for the kid that wears the shirt. And so what if your child tells their best friends about it? They are just kids. And there certainly isn’t anything weird about food on clothing or beach floats.

        šŸ˜ŗšŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

      • Kathryn

        Couldnā€™t agree more, Cat!

      • Nicole

Right?! They donā€™t have a huge sign on them that says SCRATCH AND SNIFF ME!!! It just looks like any other normal tank top. Itā€™s just supposed to be something fun for the child wearing it and maybe their parents or siblings. People are just way too sensitive šŸ˜

  2. Marie

My daughter has a scratch and sniff nightgown that was supposed to be blueberries or something. Then I washed it once and now nothing so I wouldnt expect much from these

  3. Meg

Hmmmm….donā€™t kids scratch and sniff enough awkward things? Lol

  4. Birdie

No thank you, Target – weird scratch and sniff idea and trying too hard to push the ā€˜gender neutral clothing ā€˜ in my opinion.

    • mriff

I agree! I thought it was a typo at first. I have 7 boys at home and there is NO WAY they would wear those outfits! They are definitely trying to cross the gender divide. No thank you! I prefer for my boys to look like boys. And they prefer that too.

      • Dee

I feel the same way šŸ˜ why can we just have boys clothes and girls clothes

  5. riss

I have boys, and they’re in college, but even if they were toddlers, this is not gonna fly. I agree with everyone, no bueno.

  6. Shannon

I had to go back and double check cause I thought these were all girls clothes! I doubt the scratch and sniff would survive the washer and dryer!

  7. L

Saw this line today. My boys would not want to wear these. I first thought these were girl clothes.

  8. Sarah

I agree with everyone. These clothes are almost insulting. WHY would anyone dress their boys in this feminine junk, and why are we putting scratch and sniff on little girls clothing?? Target, thank you for the reminder of why I donā€™t shop at your stores anymore.

  9. Hilpae

I love these!!!! I got my sons the banana shorts and they love them too!

    • Tea

šŸ‘šŸ¼ Youā€™ll have to post if they keep there scent after a wash.

  10. Kathryn

Ugh so much judgement!! If a scratch and sniff shirt makes a kid excited to show their friends, whatā€™s the big deal? Iā€™d be more worried about the chemicals in them making them smell over a random adult coming over and smelling their shirt.

Would my young son want these? Probably not, but if yours does- awesome! Certainly no judgement here. Canā€™t we just let kids be kids and let them like what they like?

    • Tea

      šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

    • Emily

Exactly! May not be for my kiddo, but thereā€™s other kiddos out there who will love and want. It just about reaching ALL different fashion styles, so why do people Ave to get upset with someone elseā€™s taste differing from theirs?

  11. Tea

Wish they were making some for adults. If others donā€™t like them, then donā€™t buy them and move on. No need to post about being close minded. And itā€™s weird that people think sexually about these cute and fun clothes for kids.

  12. Leslie

Oh! How cute! I canā€™t be the only one that remembers Don Johnson, A C Slater, and all the other 80s pop references that wore these colors! How fun! Iā€™m loving the shift dress, my daughter will love it too!
Iā€™m an older parent to young children. Some battles arenā€™t worth fighting. Of all the things in the world to say, choosing a ridiculous battle to have with clothing youā€™re not required to have is a testament to how little one has to complain about. Meh, I wish these came in adult sizes. Iā€™d wear the shift dress and DH would wear some of the kids clothes.
