This looks like a lot of fun, but it is VERY cheaply made. We ended up throwing ours out because it would fall apart so easily and was a cause of much frustration at our house.

I also wanted to say that the hand-operated Thomas minis sets (there’s a castle-themed one too, which is what we have) are rather cheap and difficult for little hands to operate. The crank doesn’t turn easily with a train in the spiral and often the trains get stuck. My 3-year-old simply places the trains at the top of the track and lets them zoom down, bypassing the spiral entirely. However, the two pieces of thin plastic that operate as track come loose frequently, and so no matter how your child plays with it, this is a toy where you’ll likely have to be nearby helping out with repairs much of the time.
There’s a battery-operated Thomas minis track that is around $20-$25 and is a lot more fun, although that one eats batteries like crazy and we’re on our second motor!
