Thank you! Will use this to pay down our trip in Feb!
Yay! You’re so welcome!
If you pay for your vacations with a credit card, consider this savings vs the trip delay/ interruption benefits of a card. You would not receive this insurance if you paid with gift cards.
Check the fine print. With some cards, as long as you pay a portion of the trip on the card, you will still get the travel insurance benefits.
With chase sapphire, you just get the portion you paid for/used card points for covered. This was my experience with hurricane Irma. It was so easy to get reimbursed. I called today and confirmed it is just what you pay for with the card.
You can always use them to pay for things on-board!
If I were to go on a cruise, I would buy the cards to use on board.
Agreed!
Exactly what I was thinking, it’s very easy to spend at least $200 just having a couple of drinks and buying a couple of photos. We usually spend around $400 for the two of us on a 5-day cruise, not including any watches or jewelry we might purchase in the shops–just on things like photos, drinks, small souvenirs, etc.
I buy Carnival gift cards through aarp they are $100 cards for $90 bucks with your points. or $500 cards for $450
easy to earn points..daily login, taking quiz , and also just by adding a promo code from your emails
You can join the rewards program without being 55 yrs old..
Wow, thanks for the tip! I never knew they had them through there 🙂
They have been scarce for awhile though so no guarantees on it. You have to check back often.
Could these be used for drink card purchases?
Great question! I do find this listed in the details – “Treat this e-card like cash.” Hope that helps!
Does anyone know of a good website for last-minute cruise deals. I looked at vacationstogo and a couple other sites, but their prices seemed around the same as everyone elses.
I’m a travel agent. I look at vacations to go for best deals. My email tp47832 at yahoo dot com. Send me your dates I’ll look for you.
Allstate has a similar program
Thank you for the AARP info. Just signed up and I’m not 55 years old. Just ordered a $100 Carnival Gift Card for $90. I plan on doing this once a month or so to help pay for our trip in February! I also checked Allstate, but the rewards program does not work in NY.
Are there any AARP referral codes? If so, I’d be happy to use someone’s code. I’ll be signing up later tonight.
Out of stock ☹️
Bummer! Thanks for the heads up!
