moviepass to offer family plan and bring a friend options – movie pass card and ticket stubs

Save on movie tickets for the family! 🍿

Rumor has it that MoviePass may be adding a Family Plan and Bring-A-Friend options very soon, in an effort to boost convenience for moviegoers! MoviePass believes that these plans will streamline the process for members who have subscriptions so that they can keep the order on one card, and allow up to four family members to choose their seats together at the time of order.

In fact, in a recent interview with the CEO of their parent company CinemaBlend, Ted Farnsworth explained that they’ve been working on adding more plans to the MoviePass program:

“We’ve been working on that one for awhile. So that’s a family plan, and it’s also the ‘bring-a-friend’ plan. … It would be the same [cost] that it is right now. We might do something down the road to get more of a discount for the family plan. … But it’s all the convenience of going with your family. You’ve got it all in one app, one card, one everything.”

The Family Plan will still require each member to have an individual MoviePass subscription at the current rate of $9.95 a month. And the limitations would still be in effect: one new movie, once a day, every day. But this new Family Plan would allow a group to bundle the tickets together in their order.

What do you think of these plans?

We love the moviepass. We got lucky and scored the annual plan when it was only $6.95 per month. We’ve seen 9 movies in a month in a half. We highly recommend it especially if you have theaters with eticketing.

That’s a great price! Thanks for the recommendation!

We bought an annual pass for my retired parents. 7 bucks a month and they see a movie every other day. They also signed up the theatre’s rewards program and now have a ridiculous amount of free snacks, drinks and extra movie tickets. They’re the hit of their retirement community. They can always brings friends free and get everyone food/drinks.

I have movie pass, but since having to take pics I barely use it. I am always with my son so I only see kid movies. We used to watch them over and over, but I’m not sure if I can now or if it’s each movie once. Anyone still see the same movie a few times ?

It won’t let you see the same movie twice … at least you can’t check on twice

I second what another reader already said,
They are losing money and they are tanking quickly. This program will not be around much longer….

Family plan would make no sense for anyone using MoviePass with a cinema rewards card like Regal or AMC. My kids and I each have a Regal Rewards card and are each diamond status meaning we get a extra 1,000 points each time we go. Having separate MoviePass cards gets us 2,000 points we normally wouldn’t.
