My Walmart in Columbus Ohio will not except printed coupons they will only take coupons that come in the newspaper like red plum retail me not.

    • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

DARN! That is such a bummer. 🙁

    • amy111

Try the Meijer in Columbus. It worked for me yesterday! I gave up couponing at Walmart in our city years ago.

  2. Michelle

This coupon beeped for my at Kroger because the coupon exceeded the item value… the cashier was nice enough to push it through but I think a lot of people work have issues… hth

    • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

Happy she was able to push it through for you!

  3. Stevmill8809

I didn’t think Walmart allowed for money back or items to be free?? At least the stores by us in Wisconsin.

    • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

Hey there! It the Walmart Coupon Policy, it states….

The coupon value will be applied to the price of an item allowing any overage to be applied to the transaction total.

So you should be able to! And if they give you a hard time, I would recommend pointing that out in the policy!

Yeah, I don’t think that my Walmart is going to honor the moneymaker part of this deal. They’re notorious for doing that whenever the coupon exceeds the price of the product. Not worth fighting over it.

    • riss

I agree. Save yourself some misery and be thankful that your coupon goes through. Our walmart is so strict with coupons, esp the high value coupons. There are times that they won’t take printed coupons.

  5. Laura

These are $1.97 at my Walmart, I got $1.07 overage on each one. 😊 Thank you for posting!!

    • Jennifer (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You are so welcome, Laura!

    • Mrs.W

      Wow great score!

  6. Laura

    Oops $1.03 overage 😁

  7. KED

    Thanks for the post.

I just did this Friday through the self-checkout along with the Garnier masks ($2/1). I bought two of each for free and money maker ($1.66 total for the four items).

    • Liza (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Sweet! Glad you were able to score both deals Jackie!

  9. Amy

Make sure to read the fine print – one per day

  10. Sylvie

My Walmart in PA does not accept coupons when the value of the item is below the coupon amount

    • Autumn

Print them out the coupon policy and take it with you. Talk to the store manager if you have to. Train their employees 🤣

  11. Pat

If you use the self checkout, you definitely won’t get overage. No matter how much you argue that it is their policy.

    • Randee

This is a lie, I’ve gotten overage several times using self checkout in fact as recent as Friday

      • Judy E Trac

No, you’re lying! I’ve had so many troubles using coupons at Walmart and if it’s over the price, they even called the district manager on the phone to ask and he said they don’t accept coupons over the item price. They called out so many supervisors and managers just to handle my coupon. They kept telling me to wait and wait until the store manager called the district manager or someone that was higher up to him. Waited after one hour and still a no go!! You probably got someone nice and dumb to override it for you…then that’s your luck and not policy

        • Angie (Sweet Sidekick)

Per the Walmart Coupon Policy the coupon value will be applied to the price of an item allowing any overage to be applied to the transaction total. In select instances, Walmart may give cash after overages are applied to the transaction total (remaining basket). If your store is not following this policy, you may want to try calling corporate or shop at a different store as they should be giving overage. Hope that helps!

    • Jackie

I used self checkout and received the overage.

  12. CJ

My store was wiped out. Not in stock. Hoping they will restock soon. They also didn’t seem to carry the Garnier hair masks (the small size that would be free w/coupon). The were also out of the Green Giant carrot spirals (another stellar deal w/coupon).

  13. I

If you read the policy, it is their policy to give overage. Don’t call someone a liar because their experience was different than yours.

Thanks for posting. Hope that I can find some in my area.

Is this coupon gone now? I can’t seem to get it or find it on coupons.com.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, it is gone. Darn! Thanks for the heads up!
