ninja coffee bar review | Cassie

Hi all! It’s Cassandra, one of Collin’s sidekicks!

I’m not what you’d call high-functioning in the mornings. Like, not even on my best day. So coffee is necessary. I’ve owned a Tassimo, a Keurig, a French press, and a regular drip coffee brewer and none of them hold a candle to my Ninja Coffee Bar.

My Tassimo and Keurig worked well but always seemed so wasteful and pods for the Tassimo were impossible to find. My drip brewer always left me wanting more, and let’s face it, I’m barely able to pull an outfit together and attempt a hairdo before 7 a.m. so the whole French press thing just wasn’t happening.

First I drink the coffee, then I do the things.

Making a single cup or an entire carafe of coffee is as easy as turning on the machine, dumping in coffee grounds, and selecting a brew option. It can be preset at night, just like a regular drip-brewer, or done hastily in the foggy chaos of a weekday morning.

I just keep the water reservoir filled, and my Ninja Coffee Bar will measure out the perfect amount of water for the size and strength coffee I want. Plus, its warming plate automatically adjusts the temperature based on how much coffee I’ve brewed or have left in the carafe (which means no more scorched coffee)!

It also brews concentrated coffee that can be used to make espresso-style drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and more – all without having to use any other machine! Obviously, you’re not going to get a true espresso – you’d need an espresso machine for that, but you can get pretty darned close. Probably even close enough to keep you from putting on actual pants, driving to Starbucks, and forking over $6.

The Ninja also has the ability to pause at any point while brewing. This is great for those times when you really need a cup of coffee but don’t have the time or patience to wait for a whole carafe to brew.

It tastes like hopes and dreams…

Now that the weather has warmed up, I’m all about the over ice setting again. I add coffee grounds to the basket before I go to bed, and in the morning I fill my cup with ice, stick it under the brewer, and press ‘Over Ice Brew’. My Ninja brews super strong coffee which blends with the melting ice so I get PERFECT iced coffee every time.

I just love cleaning my coffee maker, said no one ever.

It’s also simple to clean. The filter, basket and water reservoir come off easily and can be cleaned with just soap and water or a quick run through the dishwasher. To clean the machine itself, I fill the water reservoir, add a little vinegar, and press the ‘clean’ button. The Ninja does the rest.

It also comes with a recipe book, double-sided coffee scoop with measurements printed on it, copper mesh filter (no more paper filters!), and a milk frother. I bought mine at Target but you can also find the Ninja Coffee Bar on, Amazon or for anywhere between $99.99 and $149.99. They all offer a version with a thermal carafe, too, if that’s your thing.

Nope, Ninja is not sponsoring this post.
