I like Staples rewards better. They send you a check instead of having to get a gift card. Don’t have a need for office/school stuff. No kids to buy for.

They have a lot of household items too! Sometimes with great sales or coupons. I usually buy TP or paper towels.. even laundry detergent 😁

I don’t have a need for school supplies either. I do occasionally need a random office supply that Walmart doesn’t have. I’m not in either rewards program, but I prefer Office Depot. I get a discount through my alumni association, and Office Depot carries the Really Useful Box brand of plastic containers.

I just buy more batteries with it the next time they run the deal. And I get the rewards back usually the same day. It’s super easy and convenient for me. I love it.

does anyone know if you can use or reward certificates to buy gift cards? Thank you

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

No, you cannot use them for gift cards. Here is what I found in the FAQ’s –
“Reward certificates cannot be used on purchases of any gift or prepaid cards. You can redeem rewards in up to a limit of 3 transactions per day, when accessing via our cash registers at check out in store for redemption. Remaining balances will display on the bottom of your store receipt and online.”

      Hope that helps!

    Can you roll the rewards?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

No, you cannot earn and redeem rewards in the same transaction. “Purchases made with Office Depot® OfficeMax® Rewards and Merchandise Cards/Certificates do not qualify for rewards” Hope that helps!

  4. Liliana

Thanks! I always use this deal for batteries and then postage stamps the next time with rewards points. Both necessities and a good deal!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome, Liliana!

If I’m looking to do the ink recycle and have To make the minimum purchase of $10 to earn the the rewards will buying this work ?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! I just spoke with customer service to be certain and this would qualify! Here are the exclusions listed for that program – “$10 minimum monthly purchase required, excluding tax, delivery fees, purchases of all gift and prepaid gift cards, postage stamps, and purchases made with rewards and/or merchandise certificates/cards. We do not accept damaged cartridges.”

      Hope this helps!

      • Kerri

Thanks !! Needed some ink so this will help save me some $$!

        • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

          Perfect! You’re so welcome!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, you can! It is limited to 3 transactions per day, and the following is according to the website: “Remaining balances will display on the bottom of your store receipt and online.” Hope that helps!

Since joining the rewards program, these batteries are the first purchase I’ve made. I’m assuming it’s going to take a while for my rewards to show?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! You should see them available in your account within 5 weeks. Hope that helps!
