Does anyone who has previously done this have feedback? I am curious how heavy the sales people are on you. TIA.

    • YoungNana

I did not get the gift card. Was in the market for a new car And genuinely wanted to test drive. Mentioned the promo several times and the salesman would not write it down.

    • Lana

Once you fill in your info on the coupon they send it to the dealer and they hound you forever. So not worth it.

      • sue

I agree it is not worth it. They get really nasty.

    • Diana

If you are doing this to get the gift card and not really looking to buy, don’t give them you’re real phone number. If you do they will hound you.

  2. Mei

YES! I suppose it’s a YMMV situation based on a lot of different factors.

  3. Mmt721

Very annoying from just filling out the form. Didn’t even go in last time they did this because the email and calls were so bad from registering for the card.

  4. Reedy922

I’ve done this several times over the last 2 years or so and never had an issue. Make sure you have the dealer submit the form before you leave. You receive an email with your gift card shortly after.

Thanks a bunch for the helpful feedback! Glad to hear you have enjoyed this offer in the past!

  5. suzy

I’ve done this before. it was so easy. The salesman was brand new when I went and didn’t pressure us. We just told him we were there for the gift card.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

SWEET! Good to know this has been an easy offer for you to grab! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

    • Donna Bucci

Did you have to do a credit check first

We’re in the market for a new SUV and were considering Crosstrek, Tucson and Rav4… Both Subaru and Hyundai had the offer, but neither one of them honored it. Caused really to question the reliability of the dealer – If you can’t trust them to honor a commitment o $50, would they honor their commitment on a $30K vehicle?

Gave up and went with RAV4

    • hip2trade

Sounds pretty crummy. I’ll pass since I’m not in the market for a vehicle and don’t enjoy the pressure tactics for a gift card.

  7. Rockstar

As someone who just purchased a vehicle and visited a handful of dealerships, I personally think you’re crazy to go test drive a car just to get a $50 gift card, much less leave your contact information with them so you can be hounded eternally. Way too much time and hassle, and I’m still getting follow up phone calls.

    • Mmt721

Agreed! I bought a new car a year ago and still get hounded. Can’t stand car dealers

  8. DJ

We are about to start looking at cars. This would have been good for going out there.

If you aren’t in the market for a new car don’t do it but great offer if you are looking. My son owns a 20005 Elantra, I own a 2009 Elantra Touring and my daughter just bought a new Elantra in January. My son used the 10 year 100,000 manufacturers warranty for very expensive repairs without hassle by Hyundai. I’ve never needed any repairs at all. My local dealer is great. Dealer in my daughters area not so much. Cars are just a pain in the rear but I can honestly say that the Hyundai experience has been good.

I will never give a car dealership, especially Hyundai, my information again. I
was ready to sue them for harassment! The salesman would not take “No” for an answer. I had intentions of test driving for a possible purchase for my daughter, but after all of the harassing calls, etc. I will probably never set food in a Hyundai dealership!

    • Sylvia

That happens with all dealers, Toyota was really bad for me

  11. Renee

I am upfront with the dealership that I am here just for the Test Drive. Never been harassed about purchasing a new vehicle because of it. Always received my gift card. (If you don’ receive your gift card, then follow-up with dealership/Hyundai, etc.). On my second Hyundai and absolutely love it! If you ever have a problem with a Hyundai or their dealerships, call their corporate office. Had an issue once that I missed my car battery warranty by two weeks and they gave me $300 in Hyundai rewards! Sweet!

  12. Sylvia

I purchased a Hyundai car, I was in the market for a car, I wanted a Hybrid, I am surprised the Sonata Hybrid I purchased performed much higher as predicted and the car is super comfortable, has great features and has Apple Car Play, so if you are in the market for a car I would suggest you give a try to a Hyundai.

  13. Janet

The 2 dealerships in my area both said they no longer participate in these promos. The closest one is 30some miles away. That one was calling me before the ink was even dry on the certificate, but I won’t be making the trip.

I filled form out online, was given the dealers in my zip code. Was a very nice and non high pressure salesman. I showed him the print out and he said would you like the giftcard, or are you in the market for a vehicle? I said I wanted to do a test drive. We did, he gave me a pamphlet and the receptionist entered my name, CELLphone number, and email. The email needs to be legit since you will get the link for gift card there. I agree, I would use a number that you can get sales calls, email same. I called a Chevy dealer once and got inundated for months. It is the nature of the business. I need $50, but maybe it is not worth it to you. We, as adults need to pick and choose the deals and decisions for ourselves. Collin and the crew are just trying to put $50 in our pockets, but giving your honest feedback does give others food for thought.
