Zicam Class Action Settlement: Get Up to $57 Cash
Bought Zicam in the past 7 years?
If so, you might have cash coming due to a class action settlement. If you purchased Zicam RapidMelts Original, RapidMelts Ultra, Oral Mist, Ultra Crystals, Liqui-Lozenges, Lozenges Ultra, Soft Chews, Medicated Fruit Drops, or Chewables from February 15th, 2011 through June 5th, 2018, you may be eligible to receive a cash settlement.
You can submit up to FIVE claims for products that you purchased during this time – NO proof of purchase required. You’ll be eligible to receive a reimbursement based on the average manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) during the class period for each of the products identified.
The average MSRP for each of the products:
- RapidMelts Original – $11.53 MSRP
- RapidMelts Ultra – $11.45 MSRP
- Oral Mist – $11.36 MSRP
- Ultra Crystals – $11.12 MSRP
- Liqui-Lozenges – $11.08 MSRP
- Lozenges Ultra – $8.74 MSRP
- Soft Chews – $6.16 MSRP
- Medicated Fruit Drops – $10.95 MSRP
- Chewables – $11.29 MSRP
This means you can possibly earn up to $57.65 cash with NO proof of purchase required! Note that the deadline to submit a claim online or via this form to receive a cash recovery is October 3rd, 2018.
Do you have proof of purchase?
If so, it appears there’s NO limit on the total amount you can submit proof of purchase for. Claims for six or more of the products purchased during the class period will, however, require some sort of proof of purchase.
What’s this settlement about? The plaintiff claims that Zicam made false and misleading statements about the effectiveness of certain Zicam products in violation of state and federal law.
I did buy this and have it in my house, why class action settlement? Should I get rid of what I have? I love this.
I got an email about it that said the class action was related to claims they make to “cure” a cold, not anything specific to safety of the product.
Just to be alert others, DO NOT file a claim if you did not purchase Zicam products. Doing so is committing FRAUD.
Full name: Regina Zicam
Haha
Lol
Yes. Please no one commit fraud. but if you bought the product, file a claim! I’m tired of scams like this!
Just like the goldfish & swiss roll recalls…Is anyone really returning those for refunds? Probably not. Just tossing them out. Money down the drain.
Regina, the class action police!
Yes fraud is illegal but you shouldn’t be considering this at all if really didn’t purchase it. I think after you got the money in your hand you would really feel bad about your decision.
YEAH WRONG I’M CLAIMING ANYTHING THEY SAY NO PROOF REQUIRED
Thanks- we have had the crystals- actually some in the pantry now
Wow! Thank you for this. My family purchases this regularly!
You’re welcome, Alyssa!
Mine too! I have two boxes in my cabinet right now!
I have the Nasal Swabs. Do you know if they are part of the claim?
Do not use the nasal swabs! Zicam lost a class action suit of the swabs. They can cause permanent loss of the sense of smell.
Yikes! I use the rapid melts and the swabs any time I feel my nose getting itchy. Pretty sure I have both in my cabinet right now!
There’s nothing wrong with them – it’s not a recall.
Whatever you do, don’t use the swabs. They can permanently damage your sense of smell. A few years ago there was a class action suit over this, and Zicam lost. I wish someone would start another class action re their nasal spray, which is still on the market. It caused me to lose my sense of smell after a single use.
Bought some every time I was sick! I felt it was working …
(Giggle)
The lawsuit was filed because they claim to cure colds when in fact they are homeopathic. This means they do NOT contain any ingredients that have proven to be effective in doing anything more than a placebo would. If you’re interested in looking deeper into homeopathic medicines, you will be shocked at the lack of science in their production and effectiveness, and the profits that are made from sugar pills.
I love Hip2Save and all the money it saves our family, but I feel the headline for this post is encouraging dishonesty.
I’m sure lots of readers have this product in their cabinets and will find it useful, but to point out that no proof of purchase is necessary isn’t something I would expect of your site to even suggest/encourage.
Hi Mike! Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. Per your suggestion, our team did remove the no proof of purchase wording from the title as our intention was never to suggest that readers be dishonest.
In a 7 year period, my family has easily purchased at least 5 packages of the listed Zicam products and legitimately qualify for this class action settlement. I can only speak for myself, but I choose to believe that most folks are honest (perhaps especially Hip 2 Save readers) and our consciences will guide us to apply for compensation based upon realistic estimates of our actual purchases. It never occurred to me that Hip 2 Save was encouraging any of us to be dishonest (who retains receipts from 7 years ago?) and I really appreciate the information – I would never have known about it otherwise. Keep up the good work!!
Pat, thank you for saying this. Exactly what I was thinking. If my receipt is more than two weeks old, it’s already gone with last week’s trash. I appreciate Hip 2 Save giving those of us who don’t save receipts a heads up when there are settlements like this.
Pat 🙂 agree! Thanks Hip2Save for the info!
I agree Mike. I feel like it was stated multiple times that “NO proof of purchase is required”. Seems like if people have a legitimate claim that advising them of the rebate is sufficient enough.
Anyone having trouble filling out the number and location? It won’t accept mine. Are they looking for city/state? Or store?
Try using the two letters of your state. IA worked for me.
The “no proof of purchase required” is probably meant at face value. I’m sure many of us have used this, but we are not going to keep the receipts, especially years later. I don’t think Colin is intending any deceit or fraud to come from this.
We don’t usually buy this so I’m not going to put in for it but we did put in for the Harbor Freight one since both my husband and adult son shopped there quite often and qualified. Imagine our surprise when we received a gift card for $160.00 about May. However it was the only day that the USPS Informed Delivery just showed that they had scanned in items without the photos. We still wonder if the second item was our sons. Still we are very thankful for ours.
I really like the Melts and the Nasal Spray (not included in this). It’s an ethical dilemma for me when these things come up — I bought the product, but I knew it was homeopathic. I found it effective anyway. But I’m not sure if I completely understand the lawsuit and maybe there’s something included that means I should submit a form for the settlement – ?
I agree. When you kind of benefit from it (which I have), are you still entitled to it?
I’m in the same boat. We bought lots of it because just like Coldeez, my husband thinks it works for him. I think it’s bogus. How do you ever prove your cold was 2days less than it would have been??? I’m filing because I paid big bucks for it. That stuffs not cheap.
This is absolutely ridiculous… everyone should know that over the counter medication doesn’t “CURE” illness… 🙄
i love sambucol cold and flu relief. any time if i feel any sign of cokd or sore throat and take the pills every 3 hours and dont get sick. you just have to take it as soon as you feel you are getting sick. i love sambucol and have recommended them to friends and family and tgey all love it and it works. before knowing about these homeopathy medicine, when i did catch cold or flu,it would take almost a month for cough to go away and nothing really helped.
Is there any way to edit claim because I entered store name in place of location.I have 3 in my cabinet
Has anyone heard anything from the Cruise line settlement? I think July was the month to let us know if we receive anything?
I have not heard anything but am also curious as to whether or not anyone else has?
Did you guys get the email that said you had to send them proof that the phone number that was spammed matched your name? You had to somehow prove to them that that was your number, I didn’t have time to deal with it so I had to let it go even though my phone number was included. They said it was due to the large amount of claims and fraud.
I did and had to be done with it too. The calls happened on a home phone and the company we used isn’t even around anymore.
Well said, Pat!!
I’m glad there’s no proof of purchase, because I didn’t save receipts. I don’t think anyone does save them. Thanks or the heads up. Oh and I know my Mom has bought tons of them. She swears by them.
Thanks Ana for the info I actually googled it and read as much I may have gotten the email and just missed seeing it. Seems like a huge hassle to me back then everyone had home phones nowadays no one does. I would have to do a lot of footwork to prove legitimacy. I wonder how people managed to fraud the system dishonest people always ruin it for the rest of us!
I saw something about the cruise call settlement that said the final settlement hearing is scheduled in September 2018. I forget the exact date. I know they were supposed to have a settlement hearing in July also. It seems like they just keep extending it, hoping it will go away or something! As someone else said, there was a request made for proof that you owned the called phone number and that was due by May 31. I’ve done everything they have asked so far. It would be nice to see this concluded!
Thanks. I provided proof as well. Hopefully we will know soon.
do i have to provide PayPal to get paid or will they send a check?
check
Still waiting for the milk settlement. Last I heard it’s still not settled.
Its asking me for a code. Is anyone else getting that message? Where do I find a code to submit a claim?
What is the code?
