❤️
Oh my word! I thought the SAME THING!! 🤣
Oh my goodness. I definitely don’t need any dishes but might have to get some! They definitely remind me of my grandmother ❤️
Aw, yes! Thank are so cute!
My husband and I have been married for 49 years. We received a set of these dishes for a wedding gift. They are going strong after 49 years and are my go to pan (dish) when cooking. They have never chipped and still look as good as they did the day I got them. Does anyone have any Corning Ware Grab-It bowls? They also have worn like iron and love them as much as when we first got them. Great for warming leftovers!! Couldn’t ask for anything more from any Corning Ware products. Love them!!
Hi mrs keefer thanks for sharing your experience with corningware and i wish you a happy 50 th anniversary to your husband soon 🙂 enjoy: )
I totally know about Grab-It bowls. I picked a pair off from a neighbor who put them on the curb for free. One got broken and when I went to go look for more, I was sad to find out they were discontinued a few years ago. They are also quite pricey on ebay. I now will pick up any I find at the thrift store and usually can get them for $1.50 or less.
Phyllis… I have the Grab-It bowls and the lids. My greatest find at garage sales when my kids were little were the snack(?) size Grab-It plates. Love them and still use them for breakfast.
Did anyone else grow up w/ Corelle’s Old Town Blue dishes? My grandmother had them and bought some for my mom, who then passed hers down to me. Those dishes are probably considered vintage now, but oh man the nostalgia I get when I see that pattern anywhere! <3
That’s my Corelle! I have a service for 12, including fruit bowls, 1-qt and 2qt serving bowls, two platters, two gravy boats, four salt n pepper shakers, creamer and sugar, and butter dish. I love Corelle, but of all the hundreds of patterns, that is my favorite.
Corning still makes Old Town Blue. I just bought my set a few years ago in open stock at a Corning outlet store. At that time, they were also being sold on the Corning website so you could check there. I absolutely love mine. They are made with Corning glass too — not the ceramic that so much of Corning has become. The Cornflower dishes in this Hip2Save post look like ceramic instead of glass. Thankfully, I still have my Cornflower glass ones — and also some of the old grab-it dishes for warming. I never put plastic in the microwave so the Corning is perfect.
Checked the Macy’s link — and the Cornflower IS stoneware or ceramic. NOT as good as the original glass!
Oh, I know that they still make it…but it still makes me nostalgic when I see it b/c it’s such an old pattern lol. A lot of things from my childhood in the mid 80s are considered vintage now haha
All I can say is Awwww! I must add these to my collection.
I have the originals and use them all the time n
First thing I thought of when I saw the picture before I even read the post was grandma
They are sold out at bed bath and beyond ☹️
How funny — I just used an old baking dish that I had for years to heat up some leftover baked ziti. I can’t even guess how old it is. We had lots of those dishes when I was a kid. Oh I wish we saved those flowered Pyrex mixing bowls. No idea what happened to those — would love to have those.
My dish looks great after all these years. From taking a look online, looks like they are now made in China. I think some Corningware is made in US, some in China etc. But that was from a few years ago. It says imported on BBB site.
I have a bunch of these bowls and plates and I can’t wait until the day I can get rid of them. They’re too old fashioned for me!
Where to find them… try every cupboard in the American midwest! XD
How funny! Now that I think about it — we had more of those French White ones. We would get leftovers from my grandma in those flowered ones.
I’m not really into Corningware — Pyrex on the other hand. I have a weakness for!
Corelle also has the dinnerware in this pattern, now
I have my Grandmother’s and use it all the time. I will have to buy the new ones!
My mom had the stove top casserole set with the glass lids. I would love to have a set of my own but it is $74.99! And that is on sale!
Just a heads up, this is THE most common “vintage” pattern to find in a thrift store, there are other patterns that are harder to find, but if you want some of these just keep an eye out if you go to a thrift store, almost guaranteed to find something in this pattern 🙂
My great aunt had a huge set of these that she left to my mom. I’ve already claimed them as mine, next in line.
I have seen these at Meijer, too!
SWEET! Thanks for sharing!
Didn’t realize these would come back. My mom still uses hers.
I have a few of them passed down from my husband’s grandmother. I use them a lot and they have held up great!
I got a set of these as a wedding gift in 1972 and still use them all the time.
How neat! Glad to hear they are still working well for you!! Thanks for taking a moment to comment!
I absolutely LOVE that these dishes are coming back! I’m a teacher in Corning, NY! The Corning Glass Center is in my backyard. Everybody around here has these dishes!! To see some oldies but goodies return, well it just feels like home!
I still have these from my grandmother, & still use them at least once a week! They’re such good quality to last that long for sure.
I still have mine that were passed down to me when I got my own house. I have been adding other pieces from the local thrift stores. You can find nice US made pieces there for cheap. Just scrub them up with Bartender’s Friend cleaner and they look as good as new and will last forever!
Does anyone know if these are heavy or a lighter weight? I want light weight cookware similar to corelle dishes. Thanks!
I have a huge collection of Corning Ware and Pyrex and I bought every one of them second hand. Yard sales, auctions, and Goodwill. Can’t beat the price and they last forever!
guess what they never left my house anyway just used them to make dinner before I even saw this post. 🙂
Is Corning Ware still made in the U.S.A.?
