Shipping & Terms
Sephora
Shipping is free on orders $50 or more; otherwise, shipping is $5.95 OR you can purchase a Sephora Flash Subscription for just $15 and receive free shipping on all orders for a year!
Ulta has a 20% off coupon as well and some products are a lot cheaper then Sephora
Ulta carries both drugstore and high-end cosmetics…Sephora doesn’t carry drugstore brands so that is why they have different price points. Ulta’s 20% off coupons that don’t exclude prestige products only get sent out a few times a year, and there are none presently being offered. HTH
Don’t forget- your promo code can be used online only ONCE, but in-store you can use it as many times as you want!
Ulta has won my business over the last few years over Sephora. Better sales and incentives. Used to love Sephora but they just can’t compete with Ulta. FYI I only use “prestige” products and I get a 20% off coupon that doesn’t exclude those multiple times a year.
Sephora carries brands that you can’t get anywhere else. The coupon helps!
I’m Platinum at Ulta, but you can’t compare them w/ Sephora. Ulta’s customer service is notoriously awful, they’ve been caught selling used makeup, they’re known to send out targeted promos and coupons to select Rewards members only, they have no shipping subscription (like Sephora’s Flash) so you always have to pay $5.95 if you’re not spending $50, their GWP’s are usually brand-specific and generally have a higher buy-in (whereas at Sephora you only have to spend $25), and they don’t carry a ton of the prestige brands (or don’t carry the whole line even if they carry the brand) that Sephora does. If I want to buy drugstore makeup for cheap then I can hit up Target or CVS any day of the week, as their deals are usually better than Ulta’s.
Sephora sucks.
Obviously if all you buy is drugstore makeup, then Sephora isn’t for you. But for those of us that buy high-end and prestige brands, Sephora’s sales are the best opportunity to stock up on favorites and to try new things. Ulta doesn’t carry half of the prestige brands that Sephora does, plus they are problematic in other ways. Shop where you want though, YMMV! Not everything is for everyone and that’s okay 🙂
