Does anyone know if this will be the best price for the 8qt? Or is there a possibility that the Black Friday savings with $15 kohl’s cash or 30% off will be a better deal? I have a reward and 15% off so it’ll be $76 for me.

You can type Instant Pot in the search bar at the top LHS of the Hip2save site to peruse previous deals. Hope that helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just found out my Williams Sonoma offers cooking classes, many are free but some cost….any-who…. my store is doing a few demos with the Insta-Pot and there is one that offers a Insta-Pot Cookbook w/class and another that offers a Insta-Pot Tool w/class.

Eek excited I took the plunge. Iโ€™ve been debating and debating and decided having the extra room to make more for leftovers is what would be best for us even if it takes a wee bit longer to pressurize. Also Bonus found out I had 10 rewards bucks to use too so brought the price down even more. Now just to figure out how to make those 6qt recipes for the 8qt.

Yay! Glad you were able to snag one Sandra! And awesome that you had the extra savings too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just keep in mind that the 8 qt will also take longer to release pressure compared to the 6 qt. (this matters a lot when you need to release pressure after 5-10 min in certain recipes that call for it to avoid overcooking something) and you’ll need more water (1.5 c minimum) for it to work vs. a smaller sized IP. As far as recipes go, most recipes that you see will be for the 6 qt. and you would keep cook times the same, increase the amount of solid food in the recipe (but be careful not to go past the Max line, obviously!) and ensure that you have enough water to bring the IP to pressure. HTH!

Great tips! Thanks so much. Debating on buying one and didn;t realize all recipes are for 6Q..8Q seems better to allow for leftovers. Do most have 6Q? Must be site that translates recipes from 6q to 8Q -d o you think?
Thanks for your great advice! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, the 6 qt is the most popular size…I have a one for my family of 4 and it makes *plenty* of leftovers and cooks in bulk easily. If you have a family of 6 or more, then I’d go w/ the 8 qt….otherwise the 6 is plenty spacious enough. There’s no site that translates recipes from one size to the other…and it’s not necessary either. You can easily just double the quantities of everything in the recipe, but just be sure to stay below the max line, keep your cook time the same as the recipe states, and account for any liquid that will not evaporate (so you don’t need to double the liquid in the recipe necessarily).
