Ahhhhh!!!!!! Personally I don’t like the auto fill feature. Your pics are placed but heads are cropped off and things so you have to go through and fix everything anyway….

I’ve definitely done it with hardcover and it’s fine and I believe I have added a “storytelling” embellishment and just paid the extra for that piece of it while still being able to take advantage of the promo.

I have never done Shutterfly and a book sounds great BUT seems like I need to plan a little…
I LOVE these sales. I’ve actually gotten a little better at consistently working on our family “yearbook” albums because of this promo and am trying to catch up on a couple of years. I max out the page allowance on a 12×12 hardcover and only end up paying less than $50 for an amazing book that when I first started doing them paid waaaaaaaaayyyy more for. If you are able to take advantage of this – DO IT!! And if you can’t do it this time, start trying to work on it a little bit at a time so you’re ready for the next one!!
So I’m old school – scrapbooker. How does this work? I’m assuming that you need an account and have to import pictures but does it give you time to work on it or can you save work over time?

Their books are amazing. You can add text and embellishments if you wish. If you plan on making one, start now so you’ll be ready the next time they offer this. Has any one ever added that many pages? If it’s not the layflat pages does it get too hard to see the pictures towards the center when the book is that thick?
I have made so many photo books with the max amount of pages. I have used the reg pages and the layflat. The reg pages with 110 pages are okay but would recommend the layflat. If you have a $25 off code you can use that towards the layflat pages which is usually free for the 8×8. Now that I have used layflat it is hard to go back to the reg pages 🙂
Sunny – I had dreams of scrapbooking for all of my kiddos…and those dreams were just too time consuming and expensive and when I started making these albums instead I was so impressed at actually getting to look at our memories because I finish them! I love actual scrapbooks but the ability to to these over time and not have to leave stuff out is the best!! You create an account, upload pics and then start creating. I probable have 5 “in progress” books at a given time. I work on them when I have time and finish them when I can and then wait for the good sale! I like that I can lay on my couch and do this while watching a movie with my kids. And there are so many ways to personalize it. I also scan in “memorabilia” (race bibs, letters from people, etc) that I would’ve used in a scrapbook and save it as a jpg and use in these books, so that I can still have a “scrapbook”.
