Hi there Hipsters! It’s Stacy, one of the Hip2Save Sidekicks down here near Dallas, Texas!🙋🏻♀️
And guess what?! I am pregnant… again! Yup, come January, my husband and I will meet our fifth bundle of joy! Yes, you read that right, FIVE kids! I feel like that kind of makes us experts in the area of baby-proofing.
Our oldest kiddo is just about to turn 21, so we’ve been doing this baby-proofing thing since the late 90’s 😳 – which means we’ve seen lots of different products come and go. And, we definitely have some we hate, like Dreamtime doorknob covers that crack like a plastic Easter egg when you barely touch the knob.
BUT, there is a product we found that we totally love: Munchkin Xtraguard Dual Action Multi Use Latches.
Sure, there are some cabinets we don’t feel the need to baby-proof like the one with the plastic storage containers. Our 18-month-old seems to be particularly drawn to that cabinet. But, there are others that contain cleaning items or heavy cookware that she really does not need to be messing with.
We’ve tried the Safety 1st latches, but they require quite a bit of time to install and are so narrow that they start to bend downward after time, rendering them useless. They have wider latches now that are spring-loaded which probably solved the problem of bending downward, but it’s still quite a bit of installation. Did I mention we’re expecting #5?! We’re looking for easy here, folks!
So my search led us to the Munchkin Xtraguard Dual Action Multi Use Latches.
These were SO EASY to install as they come with adhesive backing similar to Command Strips. Just peel off the back and stick it where you need it, then leave it for 24 hours before use. We installed the first one over nine months ago and those latches are holding great. Now, we have them all over the house!
The dual operation buttons make it simple enough for adults to use (plus older kids and grandparents), but a toddler cannot get into them. The flexible strap allows these nifty latches to be used for almost all babyproofing in the house including cabinets, drawers, appliances, toilet seats, and more. Seriously, these work almost anywhere, and they can even go around corners.
So, that’s it! These latches stay put, work great, and keep my littles safe – all without requiring tools to install. Even better, they don’t damage surfaces! You can’t beat that!
Curious if Munchkin sponsored this? Nope! They don’t have a clue that I called out their awesome product!
I’d love to hear what your favorite baby products are! They are always coming out with new things and it can sure be overwhelming.
