A friend worked for Target and she just could not keep up the heavy work of lifting and loading and stocking shelves. You will work hard for every penny you earn there.

Ugh! Worst job I every had! And at the time, they started us out at minimum wage, $7.25. Expect to work mostly nights, weekends, etc. And just because the store closes at 10 or 11pm, doesn’t mean that you get to go home! You have to stay until the store is back in tip-top shape for opening up in the morning. You may work on the sales floor in one department and get your area all done and organized for the night but you will end having to stay and go from dept to dept helping them out too. We had some long nights as the store is a disaster at closing during and after the holidays. I’m glad they pay more now. I worked my butt off there for 2 years and always showed up to work. My first raise was 11 cents!!! And I was told that was a good raise. Just warning ya!

I hear Kroger workers get paid every week too. Do you know what the starting pay rate is for cashiers?

I worked at Target when I was in high school, and it was an alright job! Kind of considering going back to work there this holiday season for a little extra spending cash!

Target is the best job I’ve ever had, I see from a lot of people that they hate it and I can only say each one will be different. My store works together really well and everyone treats each other as friends. Yes there is actual work to be done, but I always feel as if we are all working together to get something done. I feel like I have a great store to work with, I hear from our higher ups when they go to other stores how much of a nightmare it is and I’m very grateful to work with the team that I have.
