Love Burt’s Bees but after learning they use carmine in there lip products witch is crushed up beetles I will no longer use them. Someone from Burt’s Bees told me they use a water based formula and have tried other things in place of carmine but nothing has worked.

      thanks!

Any feedback from someone who actually uses these? I know Burt’s Bees is a great brand, but I tried their flavor crystals lip balm which was like lip balm with sand mixed in LOL. Just wondered how good these are.

These are really smooth and silky, and moisturizing too. I like them.

I quit eating Activia because of Carmine. I sure don’t want crushed up dead bugs on my lips. I will be throwing out my Burts Bee Lipstick.

I don’t understand why some people hate Carmine. It’s understanble if it’s for reasons such allergic reactions, dietary restrictions, beliefs, etc.
If it’s simply over the fact that it’s a bug, I think it’s quite illogic. I’d take this insect source of red dye over synthetic red dyes, which carry far greater health risks, since those are derived from either coal or petroleum byproducts.
However, it’ll be even better if other natural sources of red dye are used instead.

They are both out of stock.
