Give the Gift of Stitch Fix

Need a gift for that hard-to-shop-for someone?

Sure, you can make gift-giving simple with cash or a gift card so they can shop for themselves, but what about giving them a unique and fun shopping experience? 💃

Gift them Stitch Fix!

That’s right! One of our favorite ways to shop for new fashionable finds can actually be gifted to friends and family. And don’t think it stops at just women. You can gift Stitch Fix for men and children, too!

In short, it’s a website that acts as your personal stylist who has all your measurements, understands your style, and – most importantly – knows your budget. Each month, members receive a curated box of fresh finds from the Stitch Fix team delivered right to their door.

If you know someone who would love and benefit from this kind of service, holiday gifting is SO easy!

How to send Stitch Fix as a gift:

Because the service is personalized, you won’t be able to fill out their style profile or measurements in order to gift them a ready-to-go curated box. Instead, you’ll have the ability to send them a Stitch Fix gift card in three different ways:

You can simply purchase and print out a gift card at home or work and gift at your convenience. On the printout page, there’s even a space to add a handwritten note for your recipient. This option makes for a great last-minute gift!

It’s a digital world, so why shouldn’t our gifts be just the same? Sending an e-gift card delivers their Stitch Fix credit right to their inbox (you can even select the send date). This makes creating a Stitch Fix account and loading in the gift card value even easier!

There’s something about a gift waiting in your mailbox that makes it oh, so sweet — it’s kind of why we love Stitch Fix in the first place! Send your gift card in a cute little box for free when you choose the mailing option from Stitch Fix. It’s especially perfect if your giftee lives out of town!

You can even check for Stitch Fix gift cards possibly on sale at some well-known retailers, including Kroger, Speedway, Giant Eagle, and more.

The gift card denominations start at $20, which is the price of the Stitch Fix styling fee that can be applied to any items kept. Larger amounts of $50, $100, $150, $200, $250, $300, $400, $500, and $1,000 are also available. Unfortunately, there is no custom amount option though you could combine multiple gift cards for unavailable amounts — ie. two $20 gift cards for a value of $40.

The recipient can then apply the gift card amount to their first and future Stitch Fix boxes.

Why we ❤️ Stitch Fix as a gift:

  1. It’s so easy to send. Whether you choose to print, email, or mail the Stitch Fix gift card, checkout is a breeze through the website. Each method comes with redemption instructions so your recipient has an easy time actually using the credit!

  2. It’s a fun surprise for your giftee! After filling out their style profile, they’ll have so much fun unboxing their first Fix to see what their stylist picked out for them. It’s a fashionable and fun gift that will keep on giving!

  3. It’s more than just clothes. Stitch Fix also features jewelry, purses, and shoes, so if your giftee is more into accessorizing over curating their wardrobe, they can opt for more finishing touches instead of apparel.

  4. It’s a quality-focused company. The customer service at Stitch Fix is top-notch! You can gift with confidence knowing that the company stands behind the products they send and will make sure you’re 100% satisfied.

“I bought a shirt from one of my Stitch Fix boxes that unfortunately ripped during my first wear. After a quick call with the company, they sent out a new shirt — no questions asked! It arrived within a week and I didn’t even have to return the old one. It was the easiest customer service interaction ever!” — Amber at Hip2Save

“I’ve personally been on the Stitch Fix fence for so long. I assumed they’d get my sizing or style wrong and thought it’d be a waste of time. I wear an L/XL and I’m always hesitant about ordering clothes thinking they won’t fit me.

But I loved my box and bought an outfit I actually want to wear every single day! 😄 It’s a little more than I normally spend, but my husband said I looked nice and told me I should keep it since it fits and looked great. ❤️

I feel great and have gotten lots of compliments. I can’t wait to get my next box! 🎉”

Hip2Save Amber says:

“I love Stitch Fix! I personally hate shopping in stores, so I just love that a box full of surprise goodies is shipped to my door! I also love that you can leave notes for your stylist and always get some fun stuff added that you may have never picked up while shopping in-store!

Plus, it was awesome when I was pregnant as cute maternity clothes are hard to come by!

Reader Tracy says:

“It’s funny because when I got my first package, I opened it up and thought I would send it all back. But I tried it on and turned out loving it! It’s stuff that I wouldn’t necessarily pick out for myself, but they ended up becoming some of my favorite things. I also really struggle with style and dressing myself, so it was nice to have someone do it for me.

They also have a size guide for you to help figure out sizes. Everything in my box fit with the exception of one pair of pants that were borderline tight — it’s easy to send stuff back though.”

“I’m a total Stitch Fix addict. There’s something pretty fantastic about getting a box of clothes on your doorstep tailored to you. 😍 I don’t do a lot of clothing shopping for myself because most of my shopping excursions are centered around items the kids need. So Stitch Fix is a non-guilty splurge of mine.

That said, I totally get it’s not for everyone. If you do have wiggle room in your budget and like fashion, I definitely suggest at least trying it out and getting one fix since NO subscription is required. I’ve gotten such cute pieces I normally wouldn’t pick out on my own. I get giddy when my box arrives, and excitedly show off my clothes to my uninterested kids and hubby. 😂 It’s totally the little things for me.”

But wait, there’s more!

When a Stitch Fix member keeps the entire contents of their box, they’ll score 25% off the WHOLE box! It’s a great gift AND a great discount!

That said, the return shipping is super easy and free should they not want to keep all the clothes. The box comes with a pre-printed return shipping label attached to a large envelope ready to go. Simply fill the package up with the unwanted clothes and accessories and drop it in the mail. Easy peasy!

All shipments come with $20 styling fee that’s applied to their purchase whether they keep one piece or the whole fix!

I love Stitch Fix! I’ve been getting a box on and off for over a year and now I get one very regularly. I found a stylist that somehow knows exactly what I will love and what will work best for me! If you find a stylist that seems to really get your style ask to keep them! I’ve gotten at least 6 from the same stylist and now sometimes I just ask her to pick whatever she thinks I may like. You won’t regret it and giving it as a gift is an awesome idea! They have boxes for men and children now too!

Elizabeth R., what is your stylist name?

      • Elizabeth R

Stephanie and she’s in Dallas. They don’t give you any details unfortunately

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh how neat! Super cool you have found a stylist you have liked so much! Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience with us!

I have been a member of stitch fix for over 8 months now. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The more you interact with your stylist, the better the “fix”! And you can get all 5 items at a 25% discount! Who doesn’t want that deal?!

Use this code and get $25.00 off your first “fix”!

I have had a bad experience with Stitch Fix… my initial box was the complete opposite of my style profile and request to stylist, I received all black business apparel, when I ask for no business apparel and colorful pieces. Went back and forth with customer service who would waive my styling fee for another shot (great customer service!) but after 3 times of completely missing the ball, I gave up, which is disappointing because my “style” isn’t very unique, they just weren’t reading my style profile and matching it with my stylist notes. But hopefully other people have better experiences!

So there is some controversy regarding what they charge and where they get their items. Just google stitch fix scam. I followed that blogger when she unboxed stitch fix in the beginning and saw the price on the shorts.
They say they get discounted clothing and charge you full price.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh bummer! SO sorry to hear about that, Jen. 🙁 Thanks for taking a moment to comment. Hoping your next order is more successful if you do decide to try again!

Love, Love, Love Stitch Fix and though I do think there is a learning curve to the service, it is definitely a great way for many to shop. If anyone is interested, please feel free to utilize my referral link!

I did stitch fix a couple of times, but I don’t agree that they are quality focused. My items pulled easily, were very thin, cheap material, or just didn’t hold up through the wash. I learned my lesson. They do have great customer service, though and took back items after I had worn them.

I love the coat I got through Stitch Fix, I use it all the time (weather permitting). It is of very good quality and has held up well. I would appreciate if anyone uses my link! 15757168

What is the average cost of a box?

    • megan

      Cost me $250.00

    • Emily

You can set your price point per item for your stylist, so it will vary. My husband signed up when he started a new job, he is tall and it is hard to find pants long enough. with stitch fix, we got lucky in that everything was fitting him (the stylists rely heavily on your comments on the fit so they know what to select for you and others in the future). His boxes were approximately $250 for 5 items, but after the discounts we ended up paying $200 for a box that was usually 1 pair of shoes, 2 long sleeve dress shirts, 1 belt, and 1 pair of dress pants. We thought it was a pretty good deal.

I ordered a Stitch fix box last time you posted it… I even made a Pinterst account and board for the first time after reading that helps your stylist know what you want… I was really nervous since I’m a size 3x/24, that the clothes would be to small. I was super surprised when my box came that most of the items were too BIG! They came really close on most of the items but not quite what I was looking for. The jeans they sent were “boyfriend” style and on everything I said “skinny” fit so that was a bummer…. I asked for a gray colored purse which they sent so I did end up keeping that since my 16 year old really liked it… I loved that all of the brand were companies I have never even heard of and that is a bonus when you are plus sized… I did look up the jeans and they were “sale” ones on the companies website, so I’m sure that is how they make money… For me I guess I'[m just really particular on what I want, so this wasn’t really for me. I REALLY wanted it to work because I Iiked the concept.

You can often find pieces they send cheaper other places and if you do Stitch fix will sometimes refund you the difference! I was a member for a year but stopped recently because the items they started sending were not that great of quality.

  11. SavingHipster

Going on Fix #11 here! Over time, my stylist has really figured out what I like. I usually want the whole box, but my budget just won’t allow. I treat myself every now and then. It’s great as a time saver, since I don’t have large blocks of time (and it would take large blocks) to go shopping for myself. Love that I can tell her what I’m looking for and she delivers. I’ve also asked to be surprised and that resulted in tops I would never pick off the rack myself but once Ibtried them on I was wowed. Can’t recommend enough! If you are looking to try them out, you can use my link to get $25 free.
    I’d be very grateful!
