it holds 20 fl Oz, which seems really tiny has anyone used this before?

    • Amy

Yes i use mine almost daily in the winter. It’s just for one serving and use it for lunch to hold my chili/soup. Have even put leftovers in from night before chicken/veggies, pasta, etc and holds enough for lunch 👍🏼

    • mel

these are single use , they are perfect if you have a office job you can put food in it on your desk and by lunch its warm

Do these keep lunch warm? For example, could I send my child with hot soup at 8am for a noon lunch? My mom always packed soups for me in my Wonder Woman thermos as a child…. 🙂

    • Frecklelily

No. These are not thermoses. They need to be plugged in to keep the item warm.

    • Kristy

Pour pouring water in your daughter’s thermos, put the lid on and let it set a few minutes. Dump the water out and put the hot food in and seal quickly. It’ll stay hot til lunch.

    • CJ

Thermos still makes insulated food containers. I send them in my kiddos lunchbox with spaghetti, ravioli, etc & it stays warm until lunch. In the morning I fill the container with very hot tap water, put the lid on & let sit while I’m warming up the food. Once food is ready empty the water, dry with a paper towel & fill with the warm food before putting the lid back on.

    • Lu

We have one that I use regularly; they are not leak or spill proof! You would not want to sent soup with a child.

  10. MaymeV

Our daughters are nurses; these will be perfect, as they never know when they’ll get to eat! Thanks so much for finding such a great deal. 🙂

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re very welcome!

  11. Michelle

Thank you so much for this post! I work with nine guys and I just started the job and don’t know them well enough to get them each something personal. This is a great idea and affordable! Thank you for always de-stressing my holiday shopping and saving me so much money!!!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You are so welcome, Michelle! 🙂

  12. Frecklelily

These are wonderful but be careful because they do leak. The lids are not air tight so liquids will find a way out if tipped over. I love it though. I take mine to school with me and plug it in when I get there.

  13. Bobbi

I bought this last year on Black Friday, and I use it almost every day. It’s the perfect size for a can of soup or some leftovers.

  14. Rachael

I got one for my husband, sister, her mom, n for the ladies in my husband’s office. I am going to fill them with individual soup mixes n wrap them in celephane… Merry Christmas!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

What a fun idea!! Thanks for sharing with us, Rachael! Merry Christmas!

  15. Kerri

Got these last year for the teachers and host gifts for holiday parties. Big hit!

  16. Betty Collins

    Are they a plug in

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Yes! These plug in.

  17. Michelle

Same question as Betty, do they plug in? Do they stay warm until lunch if you travel in your car and have no way to plug in? Thanks so much! I’ve been eyeing these for years. 🙂

    • Natasha

You do have to plug it in. They work very well and I use mine everyday. I would be reluctant to use it in a car because most days once it really heats up the lid pops open from the steam. But sitting on my desk at school it is perfect.

  18. Lindsey

Between all my kids teachers / Sunday School Teachers/ Coaches / Babysitters, etc. I have 24 gifts to buy. Everyone is getting either one of the Kohls throws or one of these! I am adding a note that says “We wish you a warm and cozy Christmas.” You have saved me once again HIP2SAVE. Thank you so much! Now, I just need a deal on gift bags and tissue paper!

    • Eileen

If u have a dollar tree near you !! Best for gift bags and tissues

  19. Ashlei Matthews

Will someone explain why this is better than just microwaving? I’m trying to wrap my head around it! LOL!

  20. Sally

I ordered these last year for my kids teachers and all 3 of them came up to me separately and told me these were the best gifts they have ever received from students. I’ve been waiting for this sale again. thank you!

  21. Ashley

Got mine again this year. Recently my daughter got braces and her mouth was sore. Her teacher let her plug in her soup. I do have a question. Could you refrigerate and just warm up the last your or two before lunch or must they stay plugged in all day?

  22. Lu

To help with some of the questions asked: We live a distance from where my daughter does her after school sport. There is no microwave but I do have access to electrical outlets. I can plug this in and she can have warm dinner on our commute home. It does not have to be plugged in all day, depends on your contents. For leftovers from the fridge, 1.5 hours is good. If it starts from frozen, then I try to give it at least 2 hours. I pre-freeze food in the same size as the insert (the old round rubbermaid containers are the perfect size), then I can just grab one from the freezer and go. In my circumstances, they sit for about 3 hours in the container (and stay cold) and then I plug them in for the last 1.5-2 hours of her practice, and she gets hot dinner on the ride home. Liquids leaks, but left overs like pasta & meatballs, anything over rice (chili, stew, chicken w/ gravy), etc. works great. It a hearty one-serving size. On a particularly cold night I might put taco meat, pulled pork, etc. in there and scoop it into tortilla or buns when we get to the car so that we both get a hot meal! I highly recommend these.
