PLEASE PLEASE be careful ordering ANYTHING from Amazon. I absolutely loved amazon in the past. I have been a member for 4 years now, but I have had nothing but issues this past year. At first they were great about fixing their mistakes, but no longer. I purchased Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon and 3 copies of Magnolia to Table by Joanna Gaines. I purchased my copy of Magnolia to Table at Target and fell in love with it. I immediately ordered 3 more on amazon. They came in the mail today and they are all FAKES! They are sold by amazon marketplace and are amazon prime free 2 day shipping, so you would expect the items to be authentic. The book would not stay open. I had to hold it open. Someone in the reviews stated that they had to lay 2 bricks down just to keep it open (joke, I know, but it shows how bad it is). The paper printed on was definitely not right, it was the very first thing I noticed. The binding was poorly put on and the title on the spine was not right. The barcodes on the backs did not match up. I went on amazon to check out the negative reviews to see if I had similar issues and people were complaining of upside down pages and whole sections missing. I am so frustrated at all of the fake items being sold by supposedly legitimate sellers and amazon alike. Every single thing I have purchased the last 6 months has been fake or not as claimed. I got a full refund for this item, reported it and repurchased at Target. Doubtful that I will renew my membership.
Thanks for the advice but to be honest this is not a fair analysis. First of all just because a book is different from one store to another (binding, pages, etc) doesn’t mean it is a fake. Target typically has “Target Exclusive” editions that differ from the mass market version. In addition, for that book specifically the ISBN’s (which identify the exact book) are different, meaning it is a different version. Anyways, I just thought people should know this information rather than being misinformed.
It is a very fair analyst. It isn’t just the “binding” or quality of page being a little different. This is entire chapters being added upside down, not even being able to hold the cookbook open because the spine is so crooked, or entire chapters missing out of the cookbook. Not because it is a Target exclusive, because the one I purchased from Target is NOT an exclusive. All FOUR of my cookbooks came to me in this manner and there were 2 different cookbooks, all FAKES. I do strongly believe that Amazon pushed out their own and it was poorly done. I also looked through dozens of reviews with the same issue. As I stated before Amazon has been awful on selling fakes and allowing third party sellers to as well. Last season Amazon was selling fake fingerlings as originals and they were clearly not. Unless, you have had the same experiences and purchased the same items from 2 different stores as I did, than I do not believe you have much of a right to chime in. And the numbers on the back was just not the bar code, as I already mentioned. Every single number was wrong. The one I got from Target was exquisite and beautifully put together, the ones from Amazon were poorly designed and put together. If you want to continue purchasing from Amazon be my guest, my “analyst” is from my own personal experiences with Amazon lately and a warning that the quality of book people may be getting, may not be what they were expecting.
I already posted this but for some reason it did not post here. I ordered a magnolia table cookbook at target. I loved it so much I purchased 3 more on Amazon. So bad so that I couldnt even force my books open. The title print on the spine was wrong. The barcodes and other numbers on the back did not match up. I looked at the negative reviews and a lot of people had the same issue, plus whole chapters missing and pages being upside down. I am returning them back to Amazon and repurchasing them off of Target. By the way the seller of the item was amazon marketplace and prime eligible so you would think it was a legitimate item. I have had nothing but issues with amazon the past year and do not plan to renew my membership. My biggest worry is never knowing how authentic my items are.
These books are gorgeous. My kids love looking at the pictures as we read to them.

I am so sad that there is not a new illustrated version this year. I purchased this one (using the $5 off coupon) last year for Christmas. I expected that the 4th would be out this year, but it is not. Fantastic Beasts is instead. My HP lover will be disappointed that Santa isn’t bringing one again this year as it has been a 3 year tradition.
