I can’t get it to let me gift a subscription. It looks like you have to have an Xbox account to get the deal. My son has an account, but I want to give it to him as a Christmas gift so I don’t want to buy it under his account. Any ideas?
I had the same problem!
Hi Julie! Unfortunately, with this offer you can only apply it to your own Xbox Account, so you won’t be able to gift it unless you purchase it under his account. 🙁
We will be a new Xbox family come Christmas morning! I have no clue what I am doing, LOL. I get that my son will need the Live Gold to play online with friends, right (Fortnite, for example)? If I get this membership now, is it active right away or can we wait to activate it until after he gets the Xbox on Christmas morning?
It looks like it will activate the moment you sign up. From what I can see, it’s not something you can buy and activate later.
As an alternative, you might look for deals on Xbox Live Gold gift cards. Your son will be able to redeem those later, as opposed the deal above.
