Not complaining about free, but the Santa at our kohl’s was not very authentic. Had a Santa costume on with fake boot shoe covers and no real beard. Kids sat on his lap and he said he would bring something nice, but threw them off his lap without asking what they wanted. No chance for a photo and there were zero people in line. We decided to tell the kids they are just Santa helpers because he’s busy making Toys for Christmas. We decided to take them into the mall for a “real” Santa experience. Told the kids he was a top tier Santa helper. Had to take photos off to the side, but was much more authentic looking including a real beard. I feel the beard makes or breaks a Santa.
Our Santa was in a rush too! And there was just a small line. He said ho ho ho, and then smiled for a picture and sent them off. I had to speak up and ask if they wanted to tell Santa what they wanted. His response was “Oh okay! Merry Christmas!” And on to the next child. The kids were disappointed they didn’t get a little toy…they had so much fun talking about what the surprise was! I just explained it was a letter they could write to the REAL Santa;)

Yikes! Seems like Kohl’s really phoned it in on this one. Isn’t the first time I heard this type of experience either with this promo.
Yes, ours was a female Santa not a problem but glad my little girl was to little to notice.
Wow! A female Santa is a bit too modern for me. I know everyone wants to be politically correct these days but I am a bit older and have grown up with a Mr and Mrs Claus so trying to wrap my brain around Mrs and Mrs Claus is a bit of a stretch to ask of it.
I attempted to go a couple weeks ago, but the Santa was awful. The kids got dressed up, but we didn’t take a picture bc it was so bad
Was very disappointed with the Santa they hired. He didn’t even bother covering his face with the fake beard never said a word to the kids! Kohl’s could do a lot better job at hiring people to play Santa. Free is not always a good thing!

Female Santa = Just Plain Weird
What is the FAO Schwartz surprise? After all the negative Santa reviews I’m trying to determine if it’s worth it to take the kids or not.
Is it really only 1 to 3? That’s a small window and the site didn’t have a time at all.. ugh
