Most of my prime orders are taking a week or so to get to me. When I chatted with Amazon, they said they no longer extend you prime membership when they don’t make the delivery on time. They offered me a $5 credit but I don’t see the credit anywhere in my account. I didn’t think prime was worth it, and now they’re proving me right.

    • jess

Same, they’ve refused to extend even when they lost my item twice for over a week. They have given me a credit here and there (which I can never find but does show up if I buy a sold & shipped by amazon item) but I’ve stopped even bothering since I’ve heard of people being blacklisted and kicked off Amazon. Their new delivery service really sucks too and is ALWAYS at least one day late (and then they claim they couldn’t get in the office building even though it’s a house.) It sucks too b/c they use their own service for same-day delivery. I’ll probably keep using Amazon but I can’t rely on them when I need them anymore and CS has gone way downhill.

    • Currie

Same thing happened to me. They promised me a $5 credit due to something being 10 days late (gee, thanks), and the credit never even showed up in my account. I cancelled my Prime membership this morning and it feels great! Other than the free shipping, I wasn’t using any of their other services. I found their music and video selection to be really disappointing… definitely not worth paying for, and yet there I was – paying for it – whether I used it or not! All because I wanted free shipping. Only for them to turn around and offer EVERYONE free shipping for the holidays. No thanks, Amazon. Rant over 🙂

I’ve had nothing but good experiences through Amazon. Only once did a package get delivered to the wrong house on my street. Customer Service was quick to ship me out a new item. They now send me a picture of where they deliver my package via text.

    • Allison

Me too! I feel so awful when I’ve heard of people having trouble, but I’ve never had anything arrive even a day late.

  3. Jules

I count on prime for 2 day delivery and now seeing some of my Xmas gifts won’t be delivered till after Christmas. I am regretting renewing my prime membership last month. I do kind of abuse amazon, but that’s what I pay for right? Just curious in reading the other posts how one gets blacklisted? That’s crazy!

    • Jenelle

If you ever cancel your prime membership, I believe you get refunded the remaining months on your membership. I’ve been considering it. I find that a lot of things are less expensive at target now, and I get the extra 5% discount with my red card.

I’m curious about the Amazon blacklist too. I noticed that I got a $5 credit when a package was delivered late. My beef this season is with Macy’s. Placed 2 different orders and in each shipment an item was out of stock. I thought stores notified you when things went out of stock. But, no, they shipped the orders and showed the missing items as delivered. Kind of annoying.

    • hellfiregainz

I dont care for Macys either. I’m still waiting on an item from a year ago.

    • kerRI

What halted anymore orders from macys was this.. i ordered my mom a very nice birthday present last oct. i also ordered a face mask for $2.50 to ensure free shipping. Macys actually sent them separate and days apart !! So it legit looks like i sent my mom a chinsy little face mask as a gift because they also had that as the box that said Happy Birthday !! Try to make sense out of ordering a small gift to save on shipping if they r going to ship separate ?!?!. Ugh thankfully it was my mother so it could be explained but imagine if it wasnt a person quite as close, them thinking what a waste to actually ship a tiny face mask..as a gift !! Bad and silly shipping is whats going to kill stores in the long run. Id never take that risk sending a gift from macys. Their loss

      • Barbara

I feel your pain/frustration. I have had very similar happen with another company. Most recently though, I ordered 6items ( same items, different colors) Macy’s broke up the shipment into 5 YES 5! different orders. I appreciate them trying to deliver what you order, but I honestly felt bad for UPS (manual labor & gas/emissions etc) and all the extra boxes & packaging.

  5. Heather

I’ve had only good experiences with amazon myself 🙂 I also have paribus, so they messaged them when my package was a day late and I received a 5$ credit!! 🙂 easy peasy 🙂

  6. Rebecca

I’ve had a lot of problems with Amazon, the last couple years really, but surprisingly, this holiday season they have been great!! I got 2 packages today that are a day early! I think a lot of this is UPS & Amazon takes the rap. There are less true Prime items, a lot will say Prime but have the fine print that it will take additional days, so that’s annoying. But overall I can’t complain about shipping. However I have had 2 broken items lately that I had to call and fight with them over it to replace, had to send in photos. Haven’t had that happen before that I recall…
