What’s up, 2019!

Can you believe we’re already in the new year?! I guess time flies when you spend it rummaging through stores and trying to find deals during the holidays. And now there’s so much Christmas clearance at huge stores like Home Depot, Walmart, and Michaels.

Here’s a little peek at my Christmas clearance shopping adventures…

To watch this video on YouTube, click here.

At Michaels, I was feeling the Christmas clearance momentum, and guess what? I found a clearance steal all on my own! I’m so pumped that I’m retaining the tips and tricks the deal shopping team has been teaching me. Hopefully, this will make Collin proud and she’ll stop buying me embarrassing apparel to wear while shopping. 🤦

To be completely honest, I never thought I would make it to 2019 with my deal shopping experience — talk about a STRESS TEST! But after my latest shopping excursion, I’m feeling motivated and excited for this new year and all it may bring.

My prediction for the upcoming year? I have a feeling that things are going to get even more interesting… so stayed tuned.

Haha I think it is the best time! I’m just not used to all the madness! 😆

      Thanks for watching!

I love how he looked shell shocked coming out of Walmart! He was almost speechless. That’s exactly how I feel about my Walmart and why I avoid it like the plague all year.

lol…grocery pickup actually makes shopping at walmart tolerable for me

    • Laurie

I second and third that!!! It the most exhausting trip. Last yr I actually only physically went into a WalMart (2) times. 2019 my goal is ZERO!!

    • Stetson

Walmart was something else. I honestly didn’t know what to think. Ha!

Another fun video Stetson! Can’t agree more about always price check, wish all the stores had scanners. Btw I have that Rudolph from Home Depot! My hubby bought it for me several years ago, but he paid full price 😱 But I love Rudolph too so couldn’t be mad at him 😊

    • Stetson

    Please don’t video while driving!
If the safety issue isn’t enough, you could also get a really expensive ticket if you’re caught.
Spend the 3 minutes it took you to record this in your parked car.

Stetson, Thanks to your video, I went to my local Home Depot and scored a Christmas tree for 75% off! I normally wouldn’t have even bothered to try! Thanks for the video. Keep them coming!

I got one at Sam’s club clearance section for $63! It’s 9.5 ft tall and prelit. I know this is unrelated but I’m so proud of it, I had to mention. Love the Videos, Stetson!

    • Stetson

That’s awesome!! Haha I would’ve never thought about it 🤷🏼‍♂️ But now I know! I’m glad you were able to score that!

Christmas trees at Walmart is still expensive even after 75% off. I can’t believe I spent $100 on a tree after discount

Great video! I hope this doesn’t come off as annoying, but I was a math teacher and I would love to give you a little tip to help you with your bargain hunting. When you scanned the item that was regularly $19.95, it rang up as $5.98, and that is definitely 70% off. A quick way to do it in your head is this: if it is 70% off, then you are paying 30% of the original price. So round and make it $20, and 30% of 20 is .3 x 20=6. So, $5.98 is correct. I hope that is helpful. 🙂

    • Stetson

🤣 If anyone really knows me- they know Math is my least favorite thing in the world! Not annoying, but hilarious cause it’s true.

Stetson, great finds! This is excellent to see a man appreciating savings. I liked the beginning, at Home Depot, and you asks what a lot of ppl do…why would you buy Christmas items after Christmas? Although, you figure it out quickly 😉 $$
I teach my son about savings and better times to buy things. So he was super happy to score some 10 cent and highest price 40 cent ornaments and stocking stuffer toys from Target recently. He got to figure out 90% clearance means I can get more stuff. Haha 🙂
    Thanks for the post!

    • Stetson

Yeah I figured out quickly by taking a look at the original price that you can save yourself ALOT right after the holidays!

      That’s awesome!

  13. Sheryl

More Stetson! I die laughing at all his videos. Keep them coming!

    • Stetson

      Thanks for watching- Sheryl! 😬☺️

That was a great idea to price check even though the sign said Elf on the Shelf products were excluded. I thought I was a good deal shopper but doubt that after seeing the sign I would’ve have thought to still double check the price. Excellent catch! I learn something new here all the time!
