    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Allison! The offer is valid for just the 20 pages. Hope that helps!

Does anyone ever see these types of deals for the 8×11 book? Looking to get one reprinted.

    • riss

I did this before, used the free coupon for 8×8, but ordered 8×11, just paid the difference between the free amount and the 8×11, plus IIRC, higher shipping because of the size.

Thanks so much. Every other year my brother and I go to Romania to help some friends in their ministry and building projects. I’ve made books each year. Now I am reprinting the books to take with us on our next trip so our friends can enjoy the memories too.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How neat! Such an awesome and generous tradition, Andrea! You’re so welcome! Thanks a bunch for sharing with us!

Anyone have any of ideas of what to make a book about? I thought about starting a collection to display the art projects of my kids that I can’t keep, but I only recently started taking pictures of them, so I don’t have enough for a book, and I will probably make them for each grade level or academic school year. Anyway, I would love to start a collection of photo books, but I don’t know how I should divide each book up of whatever I decide to do. Vacations? One every year of pictures from their birthdays parties? Hmmm

    • Jen

I have pre-schoolers who love to hear books read with their pictures in them. So I’ve tried to make stories with a sentence or two on each page. Different topics have included; how to build a snowman/snow days, the places you go, my favorites, becoming a big sister/brother, vacations, camping, family reunion book for them to get to know extended family, pre-school memories, ABC book. We’ve also done books that include the highlights of each age/year and always include a couple pages of artwork.

      • Kat

        Love this idea. So thoughtful

    • Chelsea

I use mine as a collage, two pages for each month (I just purchase the additional pages) from our favorite pictures of the year. If they want to look at other pics they can always look them up on the computer. You can put quite a few pictures in it.

So I’m a little obsessive about photobooks.
I have one for each month of my son’s first year (8×8 or 8×11 which ever the best deal was that month). one for 1 year old, 2 year old, 3 year old etc. (these are the bigger 10×10 with more pages).
one sports book for each year and what sports he played that year.
      One for each birthday party.
I have one of just his art work, one for pre-school, kindergarten, 1st grade etc. For his school books I save certain papers and art that he brings home and scan them (I only keep a few pieces that are just too precious to throw away) or take pictures if the items that will not scan then upload them into albums on shutterfly with the appropriate label, ie: 1st grade to make finding the pics for each book easier to find.
I will also make a book that is specific to the vacation we took so currently working on a WDW book :0
and will soon be starting to work on a family history book.

Hope some of these help, when first starting out go easy with a simple plan you can get caught up very quickly in little details.

I make our family a yearbook every year that is usually between 50-100 pages of the 8 x 11 size. These my husband and I will keep forever.

I then make each of my girls 1 book per year from birthday to birthday. Since I don’t print out pictures and have photo albums like I had when I was little, this will be passed on to them when they leave the house when they are older. My 4 year old LOVES looking through past books and we talk about people, events and favorite times. I try to keep my kiddos books between 20-25 pages of the 8 x 8 size, hardcover.

Thanks for telling everyone! Someone from this board shared a code with me last week, and that book is on its way. I have another one in process, so this will motivate me to get on it and finish by the deadline.

You’re welcome, Janet! Same here! I started a book not long ago and I need to get it finished!

  10. Jeanne B

Is there a page layout to add more than one picture per page or am I limited to only 20 pics without paying extra?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh yes! You can add many pictures per page. Be sure to choose the layout that works best for you!
