How does that even happen 🤔

I was curious about this and have done some research. It appears cellulose is what you will see on a label when they are describing what is supposed to be more like sawdust/wood pulp. This additive shockingly (at least shocking to me) has been added to our food since the 1700s. Who knew!

Yup. Ive actually came across pieces of wood in the kroger instant oatmeal packages. I don’t buy it anymore.

    • annie

What must have happened is the wood did not get ground down to a fine enough powder.

    Added fiber?

      Correct

    Gross! That’s just wrong.

I’d rather eat trees(sawdust) than a lot of the chemicals they add to processed foods.

    • duh

I get mine at walmart or bj’s

I love this response, “we don’t mind more wood fiber”. It just makes me think of, “God made dirt, dirt don’t hurt”. Thank you!!<3

Dont freak out and start boycotting cellulose. Its necessary fiber that your diet needs.

Although most must b hating Perdue right now, I’m grateful they are honest to do a voluntary recall n take responsibility. They want to take care of their customers even if it means they will lose some. I’ll still buy Perdue (or whatever else is on sale). I don’t mind the wood fiber either n agree that I’d rather consume that than the chemicals.
