Still deciding? See what readers have to say about this pressure cooker…

In looking at the reviews and comparing this brand to the Instant Pot, it’s the same concept just a different brand name. I just bought 2. You can’t go wrong with the price of $30.

I own this and am very impressed! It’s def worth $30! Not sure what is so special about the stainless steel pot, but I actually prefer and appreciate the nonstick one that comes with this.

I own this and have for about 6 months. Love it! The Instant Pot I think has the extra yogurt feature but I’d personally never use that. And I prefer the nonstick pot personally. Even when the Instant Pot is on sale it’s like double the price of this cooker. No issues with it functionally and it has made my life easier!

I have the 6 qt one. It will cook for a family of 4 with a few leftovers. It will fit a 7 lb turkey breast snugly.

Yay! You’re welcome, Sara! Hope you love it!

I bought this during the last sale. So glad I did. I was not sure that I would use a pressure cooker so I did not want to splurge on an Instant Pot. I use it almost every day and it works great. I use Instant Pot recipes without any problem. I am thinking about buying a 2nd one for side dishes.

    • MeliH

Thanks for helping me make up my mind, Idtindc! I decided to get one 🙂

  4. Yess

You have to purchase the nonstick insert is that correct?
    Thanks!

    • ldtindc

It comes with the nonstick insert. The stainless steel insert is sold separately for $19.99.

      • Yess

        Awesome thank you!

Just to let everyone know, this model does not have a manual setting for adjusting the pressure level. The NS-MC60SS8 model (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-6-quart-multi-function-pressure-cooker-stainless-steel/6051600.p?skuId=6051600)
does. That model is not on sale right now but DOES go on sale. Around Christmas time I purchased the model on this post, and while I was able to use it a bit, when I would look up instant pot recipes involving the use of manual pressure adjustment, I could not do that part, and so my meals would take much longer. However after a bit of research i realized that the NS-MC60SS8 model is the same exact cooker, with the exception of the one single button that allows you to actually adjust pressure level. I ended up exchanging it for that one. At the time, NS-MC60SS8 was $50 instead of $30, but I thought paying the $20 extra was definitely worth it to be able to use all of the instant pot recipes.

    • Alana

Unfortunately the NS-MC60SS8 can only be brought in stores.

    • Lisa

I own the 8 model. At Christmas when these were on sale I wrote about the same thing. The model ending in 9 doesn’t appear to have the low, med and high setting. The 8 definitely does! I only compared the manuals for each online so I purchased the 8 model. At this point I have only used it twice … I expected I wouldn’t use it often. So far so good. I’m still looking for good recipes and think I need to purchase a few accessories (steaming basket). I cook very healthy in our house, bbq all year long so my meals come together very quickly anyway. the issue with crock pots and instant pots is a lot of sauces usually high in sodium and such. I recently downloaded a few healthy instant pot books but have not had a chance to make stuff and many require some accessories for steaming. For me, this price point worked.

This model does not allow you to manually set the pressure level. The NS-MC60SS8, SKU 6051600 does. This is an important feature that makes it identical to the instant pot. Without it, meals take much longer. It is not on sale right now it does go on sale often. I bought mine for $50, but in the reviews I read that some people purchased theirs for less than $30.

    • M

I’m not sure if this is correct. I have this model and use the manual pressure option often. There is a manual button in addition to +/- for more/less.

      • RG

Hi M, the more/less +/- button is to select how big your portions are. You cant select high pressure for say, 5 minutes. It forces you to cook for more than 30 mins if you want high pressure.

  10. Workaholic

Got this last sale and I’ve used it on several dinners. I have been able to convert the pinterest recipes made for the instant pot. So far I haven’t had anything undercooked or overcooked. Recommend this all the way and will be buying one for my parents. Ps. I love the non stick! So quick to clean! Everything slides out!

  11. BooBoo

Received a stovetop pressure cooker. Can it still do everything the Instant Pot can (including Instant Pot recipes)?

  12. Shari M

  14. Shayla

The 8 qt is now on sale for $39.99!! And looks like it ends in 9 so it’s similar to instant pot, here’s to hoping 🤞🏻
