This is truly a waste of money. Please do yourself a favor and buy something else.
I guess it depends on how often you eat tacos and/or whether you have kids/messy eaters. I have the Cuisinart grilling rack for taco shells so that I can make homemade baked crispy tacos, which also doubles as a holder. It is not a necessessity but makes life easier if you are trying to feed a family in a reasonable amount of time. You can assemble them all at once, assembly line style.
