I’m kind of surprised they make these in kids’ sizes—especially big kids. No one should do this to their child.

What do you mean? The style is too adult?

      • Aimee

Yes. They’re generally what older adults with foot issues require. They even make memes about them. I have a 12-yr-old in 7th grade and he would get picked on so badly if I made him wear these.

Really? While they may not look the best actually they are very practical and good for your feet which is why you see older wiser people wear them. Nike Adidas and other such brands are not good for your feet. BTW I am not old and this information came from my foot doctor and while my kids do not have these particular shoes they do wear New Balance.

I love New Balance and they have some really nice styles out—definitely competitive with Nike, Adidas, etc. I was just referring to this specific style of shoe—you’re asking for it if you put your kid in these. I work for the school system and have two kids myself. It kills me when parents dress their kids in dorky apparel and shoes. I work with special needs kiddos and it kills me when parents dress them so horribly that it makes them stand out even more. These are shoes that would make your kid stand out and open them up to being picked on. As parents, we need to go out of our way to make sure our kids don’t go to school as targets for bullying.

A lot of private schools require them…

That sounds about right. Everything about any school uniform is pretty awful.
