Bring back the old format. I like knowing all the deals and picking what I want to get from that list.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the feedback, Sarah! We did decide to trim down the deals as we have received a lot of response from readers that the weekly store deals were too long and overwhelming. As a result, we decided to trim them down to the BEST deals. We will certainly revise the weekly deals in the coming weeks based off of all feedback.

  2. Joy

Old format please, best deals highlighted in red! Thanks for letting me give my opinion

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You bet! We sure appreciate it, Joy!

  3. Steve

Funny how “we have received a lot of feedback from readers that our weekly store deals were too long and overwhelming”, yet there’s literally absolutely ZERO comments from anyone here saying that they feel that way. The concept of people referring to simply scanning through a page and ignoring any text that isn’t IN RED as “overwhelming” is super cringeworthy, and combined with absolutely NOBODY praising the change, is quite frankly of questionable truthfulness. It would really just make more sense to say it’s too time consuming to put it all together and this was done in an effort to cut down the workload.

    • Anne

I wouldn’t jump to conclusions like that, I have no reason to doubt their explanation. I imagine people wouldn’t exactly be eager to announce that they’re confused and prefer things simpler, so those kinds of requests were probably sent directly to H2S rather than publicly commenting. I myself prefer the more thorough deal lists, so hopefully with enough positive comments to that effect we’ll see a return to the prior format.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for your honest feedback, Steve. We are taking all comments into consideration moving forward.

      • RB

Each of the several times Hip2Save has altered the format, there have been numerous comments from shoppers similar to these, expressing preference for the deals in red:

        1) Having the full ad information has been most useful to me for planning purchases as well as use of ExtraBucks rewards.

        2) Note: The reason that in addition to the coupon match-ups I also rely on Hip2Save to find out what all the sale items are (rather than just looking at the Sneak Peek ad) is that the graphics in the flyer bog down the computer. Incidentally, even the superfluous large photos recently added are problematic– not only as noted by those who print lists– but also for those of use who don’t have the latest technology; in fact, they have caused scrolling through the post to become inordinately time-consuming– needlessly cumbersome (despite fast cable/fiber internet connection), due to loading of those mega-graphics overwhelming the memory of this older laptop).

Given past feedback from Hip2Save-ers, a similar response would seemingly be anticipated. Accordingly (although I am hesitant to attribute this to being merely a time-saver for Hip2Save staff), I, too, am puzzled why the format has once again been changed(?)

    • Mel

I agree. I have not seen one comment explaining why they feel the weekly ads are ‘overwhelming’? If they are getting tons of complaints via email, then why not offer a poll or take suggestions? Honestly, I don’t need to see images. I find they are too big and take a while to load at times (esp if I’m on my phone).
I would suggest 2 posts like Target. The whole ad with coupon matchups and then a second post with just the ‘best deals’. I look for the red to make sure I’m not missing anything, but use the coupon matchups to go with weekly crts, that might make something a better deal.

    • Renee

My thoughts too Steve! It seems like every comment is asking for the old format

  4. Tara

I too, like the other format that listed all the deals and at the end of the post, listed the Team Faves. I followed 3-5 other blogs/coupon sites, but when I found Hip2Save, i stopped following them, because you had ALL the deals for all the stores I shop at. So I had one stop “shopping” before I did my actual physical shopping. Sometimes the BEST deals are not what I need or want (i.e. diapers/baby stuff, vitamins) but I still want to know what the other deals are. Yes, I can look at the CVS flyer and figure out myself, but that’s why I started following your site in the first place – it was already figured out for me.

    • Mel_Punk

My feelings exactly. Of course, the deals are red helped narrow down the list but having the other deals listed was handy, especially if I don’t “buy” coupons so I make my own deals based on the ones in the red, and the ones not. If I don’t have multiple coupons, it’s not a good deal, but I can get other items on sale, that I’ll use, to make a good deal. Hip2Save is my favorite and go-to.

  5. Kathy

I like the old format as well. I’m sure it takes a lot of time to put together the long list of all the deals, but the CVS weekly deals post is one that I always counted on. Please reconsider the change, and thanks for all you do!

  6. mitzie

Please bring back the old format. Maybe put the best deals at the top and the rest of the deals at the end.

    • RB

That’s a good, practical suggestion, Mitzie.
(I prefer all the deals displayed, too.)

  7. beverly mcgee

Loved all the deals!! brings out deals that I overlook when looking at the sale .paper.I really miss it ! !!

  8. Dana

Also prefer the old format, with deals highlighted in red

  9. Beth

Hi – just a thought was wondering is there a way to do 2 posts – one like before (for the serious bargain hunters like me) and maybe this new abridged version for the ones that requested it changed – not meaning to add work for you guys but I really miss the old way – Thanks for all you do πŸ™‚

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Beth! Thanks so much for the helpful suggestion!

  10. Beth

I also prefer the old format please! I started scrolling looking for red and got almost to the end before I realize that things just have changed. I enjoy looking at all the deals even if they aren’t considered the β€œbest” deals because I often have $4 off $15 cosmetics or $2 off $12 Colgate to combine and use with some of the β€œnot best” deals. Thanks for all you do anyways and please consider going back to the old way!

  11. Christy

Please bring back the old format! Hip2Save is by far my favorite site and the ONLY one I use anymore. All the hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated and the “long list” and “best deals highlighted in red” are what make this site stand out to me. Please go back to the old format! Thanks for all you do!

  12. Andrea

Old format please! I use the best deals to try to roll my bucks, but also use non red deals to find good prices on needed items and to help when I must reach a specific threshold to use a coupon.

  13. Carrie

Old format with best deals in red…please please please please pretty please! lol

  14. julie

Please bring back the old format! I have been using your website for as long as I can remember and it has always been the most comprehensive one. I vote bring it back. It was perfect for serious couponers!

  15. Robert

Yes, the old format. Your determination of the “best deals” might not match everyone.

  16. Tom

I prefer the old format. Many times I will receive coupons from the CVS machine which I will pair up with the deals posted to make the deal better for myself. I can only do it this way with HIPs help of all the deals posted. The deals in red I see a has good compromise to allow users the ability to scroll through the post quicker.

  17. Sara

I also have to say I prefer the old format. I know others have already said it, but a lot of times, I need something and even thought it isn’t considered a great deal – it’s nice to know what’s on sale and how to make it a better deal. Thanks!

  18. kzertuche

Thank you for all you do. I already posted on the Rite Aid post, but I vote to bring back the long list, or I also like the idea of two posts. One with all the deals and a second shorter one with the “best” deals. Like so many other people mentioned, it really helps to have all the deals if you are out of something (yes, even those of us that usually stock up can run out of something πŸ™‚ ) or if you are trying to reach a purchase threshold, or roll those Extra Bucks!!

  19. Carol

I miss the old format as well – thank you for all you do

  20. Sharie

I miss the old format πŸ™ but still appreciate all that you do πŸ™‚

  21. Mel_Punk

I appreciate all you do. I do prefer the old format. One thing I thought was duplicative, with the old format, was listing the teams fav deals at the bottom. The fav deals were typically the ones in red. Just a thought.

  22. Tonya

Short and Sweet, Old Format Please and Thank You for All that YOU do.
    With Love

  23. Maggie M.

I know I see numerous people voicing a similar opinion but please bring back the old format. I have been coming to your site for over 8 years- I loved the whole ad with best deals in red for all your weekly match ups. I appreciate all your hard work but love the old format!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks SO much for being a long time follower!❀❀ We sure appreciate your feedback and will keep that in mind for next week’s post!

  24. Diane

I like the old format much better also. If it is not coming back, could you recommend another site that does list everything that is on sale at CVS and Walgreens? I hope this is not inappropriate to ask. It was another savings blog that linked me to your site many, many years ago. And I still use both your sites. Love your site and all the work you do to save us money!

  25. CC

Same as the others. I prefer the old format. Please bring it back πŸ™‚

  26. boynole

Like MANY posts here… bring the old format back. I have been a reader for almost 9 years and have come to depend on the long format. I often get items listed in black and not the red. I DEPEND on theses posts to save myself the time in going through the adds. With this new way I will have to go back to getting the sales add then deciding my trip. With the old format, my trips were decided on Saturday afternoon. PLEASE….. old way!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for your request! The team has decided to make them longer and highlight in red this week! Stay tuned!

  27. jain

    old format please

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, Jain! We plan on making these longer AND highlighting in red again. Stay tuned!

  28. heidirictor

Hi Hip2Save Crew, after reading ALL of the responses both here and on the CVS weekly deal page, every single one of them are asking for the longer list. How many asked for the shorter list that made you change your mind and make it shorter? I ask because not a single person commented that they liked it shorter on either comment page. Thank you for your hard work. It makes our job soooo much easier. You are the main group that I teach to my coupon class. πŸ™‚

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You are SO very welcome! Thanks a bunch for taking the time to comment. We really do appreciate everyone’s feedback. We have decided to lengthen these and highlight in red. πŸ™‚

      • heidirictor

YAY!!!! So happy you have decided to go back! πŸ™‚

  29. Twirkalurk

Best deals are great, but….based on a persons local coupons, sometimes THEIR best deals are not the ones you post. Please bring back the oldie but goodie! Thanks!

  30. Roro82

Do a poll and see who wants the new vs the old. I prefer the old…

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the feedback! We have decided to make these longer and add back the red highlighted deals! πŸ™‚

  31. Amanda C

I miss the Sneak Peak Preview on Thursdays for the Drug Stores… Did yall stop those?! I would love to have them back! The last two Thursdays haven’t been the same for me! πŸ˜‰

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! So sorry for the confusion. We did make the decision to end those as they were not widely utilized by readers. Thanks a bunch for your feedback! I will be sure to pass this along to the team!

    • Juju

Me, too – I also liked the β€œSneak Peek” of CVS deals on the Thursday before. I liked knowing what was coming- and I liked your suggestions to print coupons in advance for good deals
