I got this last time it was posted for my daughter’s birthday. Its the same size as the one she uses at gymnastics and won’t take up too much room. It’s not that long but perfect to learn how to balance while turning around and several other exercises.

Are these really soft? For instance, would they squish down when an 11 year stands on them? Or are these designed for lighter, younger children? Additionally, is anyone familiar with their mats? Hi, My daughters 10 and 12 are in competitive teams (level 4 and 6)and I was going to get these for practice but after reading their reviews I decided to pass. It doesn’t look like it would work for older kids. Now the mats do look sturdy and well made. I would pass on the beam but get the mat.
Our 9’ balance beam just arrived. She just turned 4 and loves it! Hasn’t been in the house for an hour and it’s already been a balance beam, a bowling alley lane wall and now is folded upright and becoming a tent. Limbo is next. I’d say this was a good purchase!
