Masks and scrubs seem to be all the rage now. But way before this time there was Queen Helene.
Masks and scrubs have been around forever, way longer than this brand!
Sure, there have been masks and scrubs for a long time, including the homemade versions. But you canโt deny the popularity of them now. Queen Helene products go back to 1930.
I wasn’t saying that they aren’t popular now though- I was saying that skincare products like that are nothing new at all. So while Queen Helene might be considered an older brand here, the concept of using a mask/scrub is centuries old. Hope that clarifies things.
You are absolutely correct. Women have been using beauty products since ancient times. Oils were always used for moisturizing. Cleopatra is known to have used beauty products. Women have even used ingredients that have turned out to be downright dangerous such as lead and arsenic in their beauty concoctions. My point was not that the Queen Helene company came up with the idea of beauty products or even masks & scrubs. But they did market them back in 1930 and have continued to do so to the present time. There may be some other cosmetic companies that have survived from that time period that are still alive, but I can’t think of any. Maybe in Europe.
Oh there are actually many skincare brands in the US that from that time period…Pond’s, Kiehl’s, Elizabeth Arden, Noxzema, Vaseline, Thayer’s, Smith’s, etc. ๐
Thanks for the list! It is good to know that more companies and products have survived through the years.
New packaging!
Purchased this sometime last year when H2S posted it. Unfortunately It did nothing good for me ๐ broke me out even worse.
Oh bummer! SO sorry to hear that, Joanna!
This broke me out. I hate this
