    Do these work?

    • JoAnne

Yes! I am one that gets eaten up outside and could sit out at night without bug spray. Better deal at Sam’s Club or Costco though. I think $89.99. I had the 1/2 acre on a couple of years ago. I’m getting the bigger one this time.

      Mine never killed anything…

I bought one of these 2 years ago. Complete waste of money. Did not reduce the amount of mosquitos in my backyard at all. I’m guessing Hip2Save must have a deal with QVC since they seem to post the TSV’s quite often now.

I got something from QVC. Thankfully, did not pay full price (only a few dollars). After I received it, I was pretty shocked at its quality (it was bad, real bad), and then when I went back and listened to the video promoting the product, my jaw just dropped. Could not believe the 2 ladies talking about this thing like it was the next best thing to sliced bread. Total crap. #NeverAgain. I was surprised Laurie Grenier would attach her name to at least the garbage I received.

I think I will wait until a free ship day which is pretty often on QVC. And a 6 pay.

They sale these at Costco for around $59 where I live…

Thanks for sharing the price you spotted in your area! We’ll have to keep a lookout!

I bought one of these two years ago, and I do believe it works for us. It is always full of bugs. I see mostly moths, but there are other bugs it catches. It is a little difficult to tell if it cuts down on mosquitos, but we don’t have many now as we have had a noticeable amount in the past. We have the bigger one in our back yard near our deck. I am thinking of getting one for the front yard as well. I’ve only had to replace one of the bulbs in the two years we’ve had it. We put it up in the fall and get it out in the spring.

We got something similar from QVC last year and all we ever found inside were tons of moths. I felt bad for them.

It doesn’t seem like that great of a deal…don’t know why this one was posted…

  9. Angela V.

Purchased this about two years ago. Honestly haven’t noticed any significant difference between when it’s on or off. Have had better results using a large citronella candle. Wouldn’t purchase again, nor reccomend purchasing one.

  10. Darla

Mosquitoes will be attracted to the light but not get close enough so you’ll probably be better more if you have one. Also the intestinal bacteria when the bug explodes travels very far and can get you sick. They kill more beneficial bugs that prey on the nuisance bugs than mosquitoes. These are not recommended at all.

I was going to buy this last summer also from QVC but after reading the reviews from some of their costumers I passed. Most of them mentioned that it was killing more moths and other harmless bugs than anything else. And now after reading some of the Hip2Saves feedback I feel so much better about my decision of passion on this deal.

  12. Dealzgurl

Well, if this isn’t the solution, what is? Mosquitoes will be a big problem now that spring is around the corner.

  13. Jill

I think I’ll just buy a bat box and hope they come around and eat the bugs!

  14. Darla

Many of the neighbors have bat boxes

Not sure why all the bad reviews-we bought this 2 years ago, and it works. We would totally be getting bit while we were outside on our patio-now, not so much. It’s made a huge difference for us.

    • *Angela-Miles*

Agree. Don’t have this specific one, but we use a smaller boxy version and it helps a ton when we are outside on the deck.

    Great post.
