What is the difference between a echo dot and an echo dot kids edition?
It comes in a protective case in case kids are handsy, it filters content so it doesn’t play explicit music etc. it tells Disney stories plays kids radio stations tells kids jokes you can set it all up however you choose through the parental app. My kids for one for valentines day and are obsessed with it
You can set up any echo dot with the kid friendly filters through the Amazon Parent Dashboard app. So the only real difference is the protective cover.
It is an awesome deal to get the echo so cheap but I don’t think 2 toddler hardback books are worth $20.
I agree. I’m going to go with this deal only to get the Dot but then I’m planning to cancel. It’s not worth the price for only two books.
You could swap books and see how much they are selling on amazon , get the most expensive ones and gift them if you like. I got two books for my oldest one priced at $16 and the other at $14. I could turn around and sell them.
Unfortunately, my children didn’t like the book options. And I can’t justify paying $20 for the Dot.
I’m new to Prime book box but I don’t see it mentioning anywhere about the echo dot kids during the new membership check out. How do I know that I’ll have the option for the $.99 echo dot kids?

Bummer, I bought the kids Dot last month and my return window closed yesterday! I considered getting another but didn’t think my kids would be interested in any of those book selections.
Thank you for this post. I actually think this is a wonderful deal 🙂 I found two beautiful hardback books for my daughter that are well worth $10 each even without the dot deal. This promo prompted me to try a subscription. We have been snowed in most of the winter and it is fun to receive packages in the mail for my kids.

I can’t justify paying $21 for a dot
Thank you once again Hip2Save! I grabbed this deal and will gift one of the books which we already have, Found Dogs, which was written by a friend of a friend of mine! …I really wish people with nothing nice or helpful to day would keep opinions to themselves. 😉
Has anyone actually received the promotion for the dot. We got the books (I was a little disappointed. One was a 200 plus page chapter book and one a short 14 page board book) and so far haven’t received any info on getting the dot. Thanks for any input!

I did read the fine print but still wasn’t able to get the promotion option. I did call and the promotion wasn’t applied to my account. They were quick to fix it so it wasn’t an issue. But for anyone else who ends up not getting it a quick call will solve it. They will have to escalate you to the proper department for help so if the first tech keeps trying to search out an answer just ask to be escalated. 😉 I worked for Amazon for a year and this issue can’t be fixed by an entry level tech. Great experience with the two techs I had though. Thanks Hip2Save for the initial post! Fun deal!!

When did you place your order? I placed an order on Monday and it says my books have shipped but still no info on getting free Dot. I’m getting nervous. I’m wondering if we can send the books back if we don’t get the offer for the Dot.

You can return the books and you will get either $10 or $9.99 reimbursed, to your account/payment type, depending on which book you return or the full $19.99 if you return both. But if you call they are super quick to fix the issue. I had too because I didn’t receive the promotion at all. Again though they were quick to fix it. We are going to try the Book Box one more month. I LOVE the concept but I picked ages 8-10and I got a 200 plus page chapter book and 14 page book. The 14 page book is well below her AR reading level so I was bummed to get two books that seem to have a pretty big spread in reading levels. We will see though. Its still a fun deal even if just for the dot and the first two books.
