Check your freezer!

Tyson Foods, Inc. is recalling over 65,000 pounds of Tyson Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips and Fully Cooked Crispy Chicken Strips sold to retailers in 25-ounce bags and over 3,700 pounds of Spare Time branded Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips sold to retailers and correctional institutions in 20-pound boxes.

Two consumers found fragments of metal in these products so the company decided to recall all of these products.

These products were sent to distribution centers in the following states: Arkansas, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. Each package bears the establishment code P7221 and a “use by” date of November 30, 2019.

Check your freezer for these recalled bags:

If you have purchased any of the affected items, Tyson Foods is urging you to cut the UPC and date code from the packaging, discard the product and call 1-866-886-8456.

Thanks for posting! I have 2 bags in the freezer that match the upc number. Ugh!

      Geez

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! You’re welcome, Suzanne! Glad to help!

    • Karen

Suzanne check the expiration date too. Just because the UPC matches doesnt mean its included. The other details need to match too. Don’t want you to toss items that are fine.

      • Suzanne

Thanks for asking, but I checked all the numbers/dates and they unfortunately match. We live in SC but shop in GA. Normally I don’t buy these, but couldn’t get to Costco and these were on sale. Such a bummer!

How many animals died for nothing… Tyson constantly has recalls

    • Ok

My thoughts too. Get it together tyson

  3. Suzy

Remember to check all the numbers. Establishment and used by date too.

  4. MA

Company had so many recalls. Why do ppl still buy from them blows my mind.

    • Dealzgurl

Hmm…I’ll have to research this because I was unaware of any recalls with Tyson…especially not with the Grilled and Ready chicken strips which I particularly like. Ironically, I bought Tyson chicken strips in the red bag over the weekend so I’ll have to check to see if mine are impacted by the recall.

  5. Amy

I had to call Campbell’s yesterday bc I found tons of plastic in my soup!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Sorry to hear about that, Amy!

I’m always thankful that we get recalls and warnings like this, even if it “could” have an effect is mislabeled, etc. I’d rather they erred on the side of caution. That doesn’t happen in some places in the world. Companies that do recalls are doing the responsible thing, even if it is a pain for those who have purchased the product.

  7. Amanda

So gross! This is why I stopped eating chicken and most processed foods

  8. ashley

This crap is exactly why our household doesn’t purchase processed meat. Especially from Tyson.

  9. Hippy

I also don’t buy Tyson brand, but my biggest gripe with any recall is when the consumers are told to throw the item away…..NO! Take it back to the store and get your money back. Let these manufacturers take the hit for their mistake and carelessness.

  10. Jasmyn

Ugh. The 1 time I actually buy Tyson chicken 🤦🏼‍♀️😒
Are they doing something for costumers when they call in? Or do you actually take it back to the store? I’ve never returned food so it seems odd to me lol 🤷‍♀️

  11. Judy Trac @ Lipscomb

I just want my money back. I don’t want coupons and having to wait forever on the phone. They need to have online forms so it’s more convenient for me
